Easy Notebook P701, 7'' screen. I can connect to my modem, but I can't get online. Message: Cannot find server or DNS error.

  • Christina Mar 20, 2011

The problem is not with the modem, I can connect wirelessly to it. My other computers are working fine with the same IP address, and getting online with internet explorer.

I just can't connect through internet explorer programme to get online on my little notebook. I used to be able to, then it just stopped. I can't connect to any websites.

Please follow the steps suggested in order.

First, temporarily disable all the security and firewall software

Note : enable them after performing troubleshooting steps.

Second, you may run the Network troubleshooter first to see if it canhelp diagnose and solve your problem. Open the Network troubleshooter byright-clicking the network icon in the notification area, and then clickingTroubleshoot problems.

You can also run the Internet Connections troubleshooter by:

1. Clicking the Start button , and thenclicking Control Panel.

2. In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click Troubleshooting.

3. Under Network and Internet, clickConnect to the Internet.

For more troubleshooting help, see Why can't I connect to the Internet? (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/Windows7/why-can-t-i-connect-to-the-internet)

Third, I
would suggest you to turn on network discovery and checkwhether it helps to fix the issue. To do so, please follow the steps below:

1. Open Advanced sharing settings by clicking the Startbutton, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type network, clickNetwork and Sharing Center, and then, in the navigation pane, click Changeadvanced sharing settings.

2. Click the chevron to expand the current network profile.

3. Click Turn on network discovery, and then click Savechanges. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, typethe password or provide confirmation.

Flush DNS and request a new IP address from your ISP server by following thesesteps.

* Click Start
* Click run
* In the run box type cmd.exe and click OK
* When the command prompt opens type the following. ENTERafter each new line.
* ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
exit

For Internet Explorer you may perform the following methods and check.

Method 1 :
Run Internet Explorer in No Add-ons mode Although browser add-ons can enhanceyour online experience, they can occasionally interfere or conflict with othersoftware on your computer. Try starting Internet Explorer without add-ons tosee whether the problem is resolved. Follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, and thenclick Internet Explorer .
  1. Click Internet Explorer (No Add-Ons) . Internet Explorer opens without add-ons, toolbars, or plug-ins.
  2. Try to view the Web page again to see whether it works correctly.
If disabling all add-ons resolvesthe problem, you might want to use Add-on Manager to disable all add-ons andthen turn on add-ons only as you need them. This will let you determine whichadd-on is causing the problem.
  1. Click Start, and thenclick Internet Explorer .
  1. Click Tools , and then click Internet Options .
  2. Click the Programs tab, and then click Manage add-ons .
  3. Click an add-on in the Name list, and then click Disable .
  4. Try to view the Web page again to see whether it works correctly.
  5. If the Web page works correctly, you know that the add-on caused the problem. If you still cannot view the Web page, the add-on did not cause the problem, and you can enable it again.
Method 2 :

To reset IE to the defaults

click Tools> Internet Options, then go to the Advanced tab. Click on thereset button at the bottom of the Advanced tab and select the options you wouldlike to keep from the list.

Open the network protocol ..and take a look on the support ..and see if any servers are allocated...if there are not ..it is either a matter of drivers for the network card ..or the provider has a temporary issue with the connection ...The servers on the modems can be manually inserted if you get into the browser ..and type the http://ip of the modem ...and hit enter..
the modem's IP address is written on the label ...This way you will be directed to the modem's settings and if you know the server you can manually insert it ..and save changes..
But I think first you should unplug it from the power source for 30 seconds and plug it again ..and see if it gets the server automatically ...and also call the provider..cause if you use the tcp/ip protocol with assign an IP address automatically ..it means that your lack of connection to the server is the provider's fault ...(you can check it by connecting another computer for a moment and see if it works ..this way you will know that it is a fault of the notebook ..and look for the LAN driver to reinstall ...

Can 807101 ps3 be solved

If you keep getting this ps3 error 807101ff, then somethings definitely wrong with your online communication. To be specific, you are having what it called a DNS error. You see, the DNS settings on your network is your means of contacting and communicating with an online server. In the case of the ps3, that online server happens to be a game server. Without a correct DNS setting, your online network is "doomed", or put in another way, useless.

807101ff problem? It's really quite easy! What you can do is to try the POWER CYCLING method. To do this, turn off your ps3 and all of your networking devices like the modem and router. Remove the power cord of the router and modem as well, to be sure. You then wait for a short while, like a few minutes.

After the short wait, you can now connect back the modem and turn it on. After you get a solid light on the modem, connect back the router. The last thing you turn on is the ps3. This way, your ps3 would be able to try obtaining an IP address. Likewise, it will also try to establish a stable DNS setting. This technique works most of the time in solving the problem

Hope this helps you!

Any further questions feel free to ask.

Goto the command prompt bar in the start menu type ' cmd ' then click o.k . A black dos screen will appear type in ' ipconfig/all ' and it will the the two servers you need under dns servers but if your doing a wired connection to your ps3 then you need to manually configure your dns on the custom method of setting up your internet connection on your ps3 as if this is auto config that will give you a dns error. Hope that helps ,I can go into more detail and guide you through it if need to .

I cant get onto internet explorer it says dns error can you help?

Check out your internet connection and its settings, whether it is dial up or broadband oriented.
then you have to know about your ip address of dns server in the network setting places.
you just ping the ip address of dns server following as...

go to start, then run and type "cmd", and it shows the command prompt. type as following format.

ping 10.10.10.5 and press enter key.. this is the sample ip address only. if it gets reply, your dns server is ok. you can use internet. suppose, it wont comes, ask your service provider or support for another or different ip address of dns to check it out.

DNS problem

Try setting up your network connection all automatically when connected to a router who acts as a DHCP server. DNS server addresses are also automatically configured via DHCP.

Make sure it can reach your router.

PS3 says DNS error (80710102) when i try to connect to the internet with a wired connection

for mine i tried other fixes and they didn't work. Turns our my router had enabled security but the PS3 had forgotten the password (WEP key).

I turned off the WEP on my router and the PS3 suddenly found its connection.

To say I was getting stressed is an understatement, Sony should put something on their website, it seems like a really commonm problem to which people have no clear route to solution.
