The water pressure/level switch contacts are welded together,usually the load selector switch for the amount of water lets it fill to a determined water level and the water level creates pressure in a tube from the tub to this switch and stops water fill and starts the wash agitation cycle,replace this switch inside the control panel

2011 Maytag Centennial. It starts to agitate while the water fills in the beginning of the cycle.

Does it fill with water to the correct level? The water pressure switch lets the machine fill to a certain level and the stops the water coming in, then the control board should start the agitation.

Pressure switch stuck you can pop the hose off the switch and blow thru hose it may reset and fill correctly before agitation will eventually stick again.

Remove the hoses which provide the washer with water. Check to make sure they are not clogged. At the back of the washer where the hoses connect there are screens. Check them to make sure they are clear also.

Chances are either:1) the water pressure switch has failed or 2) the hose that connects to the air bell has debris in it and it will not allow the switch to reset

Don't replace anything. You will need to clean out the tube which connects the water level switch to the tub. (or replace that tube)
