A jewler sent my tag out to them and they replaced the pins...thinking the bent pins were causing the problem. That was 8 years ago. Now it broke again...and another jeweler made the dimples that hold the pins in deeper. but it broke again and he said he must have missed one. Well it again broke...haven't gone back...but it was only $19
My wife and I each had exactly the same problem. We've sent the bands off to the authorized repair facility and also shopped them around to jewelers with the same answer. TAG bands are (or were then) ****, it's a known problem, they won't do anything to fix them.

Yes, This has just happened to me, I love this watch, but this should never happen. I am waiting to hear what this will cost me. When I got it cleaned, I believe the person that did this took every link off to re-buff it and this caused the wear. Very aggrivating, since I spent nearly 1600.00 on my first nice watch 7 years ago.
Mine has broken the stainless steel link in the band twice. They want $1900 for a replacement band. This is a design fault and Tag Heuer should stand vbehind this watch as it was one of the most expensive watches they made in 1990's
