Hi, I really use the same vaccum and I'm very fussy! What I like to do is read pictures that came with it so you get familiar with it. There are only 4 or 5 parts that you need to take apart to keep it working like the day you bought it. They do unscrew, and you can see the build up every time you vaccum. Like I said I'm fussy, you can clean it, take it apart every 4th time you use it, but watch the build up, I get a lot from my large carpet. My hole house is carpeting, and dust is always on it, where it comes from, I don't know ! So try it out, and let me know how the pictures in the book help, its very simple, watch and see. By the way its a popular machine, I love mine, nice and light ! Good Day, Frank !

From the looks of the manual it's just for flat floor surfaces (vinyl, lino, tiles, etc).

open the tank where dirty water goes and make sure the float is down and not stuck ...when its full of dirty water the float raises with the water level so that the vacuum doesnt keep sucking and overflow

i have been using a vax v26 carpet cleaner and the washing water is leaking from the bottom then the solution will not come out has the pump given up?

your suction tube where the water gets sucked up is clogged
