Hi

BBM ( blackberry messenger) could be a drain, especially with that many contacts pinging you all day long. Is your brightness on high? That is another big power drag. What apps are you running?
What themes have you installed? You can try reinstalling the OS. Check what applications are running on your device in the background, press the Menu key then choose Switch Applications. You will see the icons of each application there.
There are commonly four or five applications that will always be running (Messages, Call Logs/Phone, BlackBerry Messenger, Home screen, and the Browser; there are other third party applications such as Bee Jive, and BlackBerry Alerts which will also run in the background which you cannot close if you want them to operate). Make certain that the browser is NOT on an active webpage (open the browser and choose Menu > Close). Close any other applications that do not need to be running (the camera or a game you were playing or Google Maps). Also make certain BlackBerry Maps is not running in the background.
Do a simple reboot: With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
Now, watch your battery use the next few days again and see how it goes. Make sure you close or exit ALL applications properly: If you just hit the red "end call" key to go back to the home screen the application actually stays open and running in the background. If you do this repeatedly you will have lots of apps open and consequently your memory will get used up. Lack of memory is the biggest reason your BlackBerry slows to a crawl or locks up. If you get into the habit of actually using the menu key to close the applications this will at least slow down this battery drain and memory-clogging process.

Why does my phone only hold a charge for a day without using it?Wx416

One time mine would kill the battery in only a half day.

I turned it off and rebooted it, and it's been fine ever since.

Only thing I can figure is something was running in the background that was using up the battery.

Battery completely drained after 45 mins of listening to cd player without car running,

a healthy battery will take a charge and discharge and be o k -you have several things going on-the ticking noise is some kinda rely that is turning on and off probably because of low voltage-the voltage jumping around sound like the alternator is giving up and is not fully charging battery-you may also have a drain on the battery that doesn't stop when you turn the key off like an extra power amp for the radio- you can take your car to autozone or advanced auto and they will check out the charging system for free and tell you what is going on-cheers Denny

How do you recode the radio in my 2005 vw beetle

You can run your radio a number of days and will not run the battery way down. I had a car that did that and each night when I shut the car off I disconnected one fuse and did that till the battery did not run down. It took several times and I would write down the fuse I pulled. I found something was malfunctioning in my air conditioning switch area. My mechanic replaced something and is ok now. Not saying that is your problem.

Experia x10 looses battery charge so quickly it lasts less than half a day now. Was fine until I connected to internet and wifi.

All phones use more energy when connected to WiFi.
In order to preserve battery life, shut down your WiFi unless you need it.
Find Settings>Wireless and Networks , and uncheck the WiFi box.

Hi,
The happy news is there is no problem with phone, the hardware of your phone is in good condition. The problem is the battery. The battery of the phone is dead. This a step behind Stone dead stage.Next state of your battery is stone dead. You can't even use it more. Now the phone Battery will act like charging.Your battery can take small amount charge only because it is dead..Even though you charge your battery for 2 days continuously it will stay for 30 min or 10 min depending the charge usage.

Solution for this is you have to replace it soon..Go to nearest shop and check this with their battery and buy it.

Please do rate the solution if the issue is
resolved or post a comment for further
assistance.

The battery is dead. I don't know why it dies so quickly. I have the same problem. If my car sits for two days without driving it then it dies. My car was on the side of the road for three days and it wouldn't start. Something is draining the battery.

Brand new battery dying quickly on my 1999 jeep cherokee. draw was not bad, but it only lasts about 4-5 days without being driven before it dies out.

Never saw an ammeter that had a "normal" reading on the gauge face...You aren't reading the dash gauge are you? Normal procedure is to place an ammeter between the battery and either lead and read draw that way. Then remove each fuse till the draw diminishes substantially. An alternator can draw a bit but it should not be excessive.
Checking charging volts, the meter should not read below about 12.5V even with all accessories on and should not continue to drop regardless of running time. (accessories off reading should be between 13 and 14V).
Also have battery load tested if you haven't done that already just to make sure it is good (even when new) and make sure something simple like a visor mirror light or glove compartment light isn't on all the time.

Battery charge is finished very soon without even using it( in about 5 hours)

The proper way of charging the battery on your phone is by waiting for your phone to indicate that it's running out of powe but not completelyr, if you frequently charge your phone even if it's not yet necessary(battery life indicator show half-way) the ability of the battery to store power will deminished hence the battery life is shorter. Last resort would be trying another battery unit to test if it's your battery of your phone that's causing the unsual battery drain.

Or you can try the following steps on conserving your phones battery life;

  • Turn off your Infrared and BlueTooth when not in use. Even when they are not in use, they do keep drawing power looking for signals.
  • Switch off the vibration alerts. Vibration causes a lot of power usage thereby making battery drain fast.
  • Re-adjust your screen brightness to around 50%. Screen power is another silent killer.
  • Usually, presetted Backlight durations are of pretty high order, this can be readjusted to get more from your battery. Try reducing the Backlight duration.
  • Often we don’t understand that playing games requires Light, Sounds and Shakes. This in turn leads to tripling of battery drainage.
  • Lower Ringing and other message sounds. This too helps saving a lot of battery.
  • Finally, do charge your battery before it gets drained fully. This enhances battery life.
