My 7 year old daughter has used her camera, and some photos and viseos have a green key on the screen. Is it possible to remove the "lock" so the photos and videos can be deleted? I have loaded all the contents of the memory card onto my laptop-and selected delete but these items with the green key are still there. thank you.

What make and model camera? On most cameras you unprotect a picture the same way you protected it, possibly by pushing a "protect" button. No matter what, you can clear everything off the card by formatting it. Cards should be formatted each time after you download pictures to a computer instead of deleting individual pictures. FixYa is full of people asking how to salvage pictures from cards they didn't format.

Akima is right. You can unprotect a picture by just pressing a button on the camera . Also, the best option when you have used the card is to format the card when you have to reuse it.

Refer this article if you have some problem in your card.

I'm trying to take photo's but on the screen it say "Write Protect" with symbol of key below. Can't take photo's> Help!

Hi

I think that it means your camera is locked.
It could also be your SDHD card which is locked.
You could try going to your settings and searching for "protect images".

What camera are you using?

I contacted dxg and they told me just to take card out and unlock it with the little lever on the top left. i did this and it still wont unlock the card. i also tried an old sd card out of a camera and it...

The internal memory of the camera must have been used at one point, remove the memory card from the camera, go into menu and locate "format" follow the instructions to remove the pictures when prompted. When you have completed the process install the memory card back in the camera, this should now give you access to taking photo's.

My daughter tryed to download and now the camera will not take pic and it says "card protected"how do we fix it????

Take the card out of the camera. There is a tiny plastic switch at the edge of the card. Your daughter must have accidentally put it in the "lock" position to prevent taking photos. Unlock the card and use normally.

Green key shows on screen, cannot delete that photo

The key means that the picture is locked so you can not erase by accident. You need to remove the key be for you can erase the pic. If you have the manual it will tell you how. if not get me the model of camera and I will get you a manual.

Cant unlock photos

if you are seen this zip zac in your camera is because this photos was taken out of your KODAK album n you may find them either in your pictures, window medial player, even look at your recycle(some times I found them in there) or wherever you normally send your photos.

That's what happen in my computer when I moved my photos.
