Hi allenplum,
There are 2 mixture screws, 1) the idle speed screw, 2) is the idle speed mixture screw. The idle speed screw is located on the carburetor, nar the throttle arm where your throttle cable is connected. There is a screw that you will find there that you screw in or out to speed up, or slow down the engine idle. The idle speed mixture screw is located lower down on carb and has a spring on it. There should be 2 screws side by side, one is the idle speed and the other is the high speed mixture screw. They are marked on the carb body, with the letter H or L . To adjust, remember the screw position before you do any adjustments. Start by turning the screw in (clockwise) all the way in until lightly seated, so no damage is done to the seat or needle. Turn out (counterclockwise) 11/4 inch, this should be OK to start the engine. Along with the idle speed screw, you should be able to get the correct idle required. With all the modernization happening, there might not be a high or low adjust as they are ported inside the carb. You might get just the high or just the low adjust needles. I hope this is helpful to you. All the best and good luck. Denis.

turn them all in till stop and then screw each one out 2 full turns
you may have use a bit of throttle to keep it idling but it is idles the screw one mixture screw in until the engine prms goes down turn it back out slowly until the engine again starts to die
count the screw turns and turn it back in 1/2 that number of turns

Homelite d725cd

not sure what you're trying to accomplish but the idle screw and low speed mixture screw work together. most 2 cycle trimmers idle happy at 3k rpm's... just before clutch engagement

What are the air and gas settings for a poulan micro XXV chain saw

adjust the L screw in fully till right in,then out 1.5 turns, same with H screw. Then start saw, adjust L screw in or out slowly till you get max revs. You may need to lower idle via idle screw if revs too high. When screw cant acheive better revs, reset idle. Then, rev saw to max revs, adjusting H screw to get max revs, then when max revs acheived, turn screw anti clockwise 1/4 turn out. That gives it enough petrol to cool the tip of the plug

86 gmc k1500 5.7L just replaced carb and now cant get engine to idle

Check that you have replaced the vacuum line for the distributor to the base of the carby block. Turn the 2 idle mixture screws all the way in till they touck the bottom. Then turn both out about 2 full turns . Get the engine running and hold at fast idle and adjust screws until a steady idle is achieved . Allow to idle and screw each screw in or out slightly until even idle is achieved. You will hear the engine revs increase or decrease when you have gone too far so adjust to about the middle of turns

Idles on low speed only. i cant increase the speed.

There is two ways only to increase rpm (speed) first of all make sure that when you push throttle cable up, there is no obstructions or kink in cable. Number two is on carb area , there should be a idle screw as well as smaller ones for richness and leanness, leave those two alone, just go to the bigger screw (idle screw) use a small flat head screw driver and turn it clock wise to turn up idle(rpms) if still does not go up, check air filter to make sure is not clogged as well as fuel filter. Hope this helps, Mike from fixya

Engine idle too high

no, there is no idle screw on them if it is fuel injected. although you could try changing the idle air speed sensor
