Well code 2 appeaes after like 1 minute of having archos logo on screen, then i press repair and connect archos to the computer but, the computer wont recognize it and the archos reboots on its own. what can i do?
I had the same problem. I droped mine and it seems to have messed up my hard drive. i replaced it today and my comp. can now reconize it. i have been trying to contact tech. support to see if it is possible to get the OS back on the PMP. if the Tech support ever picks up my call i will message back with the fix.
This is a recovery mode, and this menu allows you to:
-Format your hard drive
-Restore your system
In case of repair disk is selected :
For the first step you have to go on our website, and download the latest firmware update for your product.
Plug your Archos 504/604 on the computer and copy the firmware previously downloaded at the root of your device.
Disconnect your device as usual, and select done on the screen.
