Goldstar DH504EL Dehumidifier

After purchasing a 'goldstar dehumidifier' we're beginning to wish we hadn't. Please tell me what we might be doing wrong in trying to remove the bucket so we can empty it. It's a horrible battle trying to remove it and getting very frustrating. It really shouldn't be that hard.
Also, if we want to hook it up to a hose so we didn't have to have this constant battle---do we leave the bucket in the machine?
I would really like a response to this because right now I'm not real impressed with the inconvience of the dehumidifier. Thanks

Hey i just got paid by some guy to haul away a broken fan(currently fixing) DH504ELY5 dehumidifier on my model with bucket removed front facing you reach to the far right the orfice there drains to the bucket id only assume just get the proper od hose(even clear) from a hardware store attach it and it should be fine- take back panel off(plastic 6 screws and youll have to gently pry the "clips" out of the steel back-dont worry if one breaks the screws will still keep the back on on reassembly) there is a hole with a foam kinda adhesive tape over it it is perforated for the purpose of an external hose feed it through there and out of the hole thats in the middle of where the power cord winds up for storage-all will be a straight shot on reassembly no twists or turns try that should do the trick and you can keep the bucket on there:)

Goldstar dehumidifier won't run

Hi,
Sounds like this unit developed a freon leak and that will make it run hot like that...cheaper to replace it then to repair...
There are many reasons for a dehumidifier2_bing.gif to not work or collect water.
Here is a tip that I wrote to help people to figure out what is going wrong with their dehumidifier2_bing.gif.

Dehumidifier is running but no water is in bucket

Golstar dehumidifer

Either you are under sized. or it is over heating. 50 pint should be used in 1000sqft area. it maybe over heating or the vents maybe plugged one of these is your problem.

GoldStar DH504EL Dehumidifier

Your dehumidifier should have come with a tube which would allow you to do this very easily. I beleive the part number is 5214A20027B.

I have a Goldstar GHD30 dehumidifier. I have not used it in awhile. I plugged it in to run it today and it does not turn on. I cleaned the screen and tried different outlets, nothing works. HELP!

Check the condensate collection bucket. If the bucket is not inserted correctly the dehumidifier might think the bucket is full and thus not turn on.

Goldstar dehumidifier

The hose connector does not drain the bucket, it drains the condensate before it enters the bucket. Tube passes through back of dehumidifier by the cord wrap area. (you may have to remove a small cover)

Runs all the time, not collecting water

I don't know your particular unit, but my guess is that the compressor is bad. If it is old, it may not be worth fixing.
