Programming Theft Deterrent System Components
Important: When replacing a body control module (BCM) with an GM Service Parts Operation (SPO) Replacement Part, set up the replacement BCM prior to the 10-minute relearn procedure or the 30-minute relearn procedure. Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Body Control System.
Important:
• When replacing a BCM with an GM SPO Replacement Part, the module will learn the keys immediately. The existing powertrain control module (PCM) must learn the new fuel continue password when you replace the BCM.
• When replacing a PCM with a GM SPO Replacement Part, the new PCM will learn the incoming fuel enable password immediately after programming and upon receipt of a password message. A PCM which had been installed in another vehicle would have learned the fuel enable password of the other vehicle's BCM. Perform either the 10-minute relearn procedure or the 30-minute relearn procedure to learn the fuel enable password of the current vehicle's BCM.
• When performing either relearn procedure, all previously learned keys will be erased from the BCM memory.
• Additional keys may be learned. Refer to Adding Keys .
Tools Required
• Scan tool
• Techline Terminal with current Service Programing System (SPS) software
10-Minute Relearn Procedure
Use this procedure after replacing the following components:
• The passkey III (PK3) keys
• The BCM
• The PCM, see Important above
Important: If replacing a BCM with a GM SPO Replacement Part, perform the procedure to setup a new BCM prior to the 10-minute relearn procedure. Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Body Control System.
Connect a scan tool to the vehicle.
Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
Insure that all power consuming devices are turned OFF on the vehicle.
With a scan tool, select Request Info. under Service Programming System and follow the scan tool on-screen instructions.
Disconnect the scan tool from the vehicle and connect the scan tool to a Techline Terminal with the current Service Programming System (SPS) software.
On the Techline Terminal, select Service Programming System and follow the Techline Terminal on-screen instructions.
Disconnect the scan tool from the Techline Terminal and re-connect the scan tool to the vehicle.
With a master passkey III key, turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
With a scan tool, select Program ECU under Service Programming System.
At this point the scan tool must remain connected for the duration of the 10-minute relearn procedure.
Observe the scan tool, after approximately 10 minutes the scan tool will display "Programming Successful, Turn OFF Ignition". The vehicle is now ready to relearn the key information and/or the passwords on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to ON.
Turn OFF the ignition and wait 5 seconds.
With a master Passkey III key, start the vehicle. The BCM has now learned the key transponder information and the PCM has now learned the fuel continue password.
Important: Perform this step ONLY on vehicles with EXPORT configured BCM's.
Turn OFF the ignition and wait 15 seconds minimum.
Important: Perform this step ONLY on vehicles with EXPORT configured BCM's.
With a second master passkey III key, start the vehicle. The BCM has now learned the second master Passkey III key transponder information
With a scan tool, clear any DTCs.
30-Minute Relearn Procedure
Use this procedure after replacing the following components:
• The passkey III (PK3) keys
• The BCM
• The PCM, see important above
Important: This procedure is not available on vehicles equipped with option code (Z49).
If replacing a BCM with an GM SPO Replacement Part, perform the procedure to setup a new BCM prior to the 30-minute relearn procedure.
With a master passkey III key, turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
Observe the STARTING DISABLED DUE TO THEFT message on the drivers information center (DIC), after approximately 10 minutes the STARTING DISABLED DUE TO THEFT message on the DIC will turn off.
Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds.
Repeat steps 1-3 two more times for a total of 3 cycles or 30 minutes.
Important: The vehicle learns the key transponder information and/or passwords on the ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK. You must turn the ignition OFF before attempting to start the vehicle.
With a master passkey III key, start the vehicle. The vehicle has now learned the key transponder information and the PCM has now learned the fuel continue password.

Did you change key also ? does it have transponder chip in the head of the key ? Needs to be programmed . You change what ? Ignition lock cylinder an key ?
Important: When replacing either the vehicle keys, PCM, or TDM and the 10-Minute Relearn Procedure is used, ensure that the appropriate calibration is selected for the replacement component on the calibration selection screen of the service programming system. The appropriate calibrations for specific vehicle theft deterrent (VTD) system components are described below.
• When preparing a TDM for replacement, the Prepare Module For TDM Setup Procedure calibration is required. This allows the retrieval of required information from the TDM prior to its replacement.
• When learning vehicle keys and the 10-Minute Relearn Procedure is used, the Vehicle Theft Deterrent Learn For Learning Replacement Keys calibration is required. This clears all previously learned keys from the TDM and enables the TDM to learn new vehicle keys. For learning additional vehicle keys, refer to Adding Keys .
• When replacing a TDM or ECM and the 10-Minute Relearn Procedure is used, the VTD Learn for Powertrain calibration is required. This clears the previously learned fuel continue password in the ECM and enables the ECM to learn the fuel continue password of the new TDM.
Important: When replacing a TDM with a GM SPO Replacement Part, insure the Setup a New TDM procedure is performed prior to the 10-Minute Relearn Procedure.
Connect a scan tool to the vehicle.
Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
Ensure that all power consuming devices are turned OFF on the vehicle.
With a scan tool, select Request Info. under Service Programming System and follow the scan tool on-screen instructions.
Disconnect the scan tool from the vehicle and connect the scan tool to a Techline Terminal with the current Service Programming System (SPS) software.
On the Techline Terminal, select Service Programming System and follow the Techline Terminal on-screen instructions. Ensure the correct programming procedure is selected based on the component being replaced or programmed. See Important above.
Disconnect the scan tool from the Techline Terminal and re-connect the scan tool to the vehicle.
With a master vehicle key, turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
With a scan tool, select Program ECU under Service Programming System.

No you don't need to replace the balancer !
Install a scan tool.
Monitor the powertrain control module (PCM) for DTCs with a scan tool. If other DTCs are set, except DTC P0315, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle in Vehicle DTC Information for the applicable DTC.
Select the crankshaft position variation learn procedure with a scan tool.
The scan tool instructs you to perform the following:
4.1. Accelerate to wide open throttle (WOT).
4.2. Release the throttle when fuel cut-off occurs.
4.3. Observe the fuel cut-off specifications for the applicable engine.
4.4. The engine should not accelerate beyond the calibrated RPM value.
4.5. Release the throttle immediately if the value is exceeded.
4.6. Block the drive wheels.
4.7. Set the parking brake.
4.8. DO NOT apply the brake pedal.
4.9. Cycle the ignition from OFF to ON.
4.10. Apply and hold the brake pedal.
4.11. Start and idle the engine.
4.12. Turn the A/C OFF.
4.13. The vehicle must remain in Park or Neutral.
4.14. The scan tool monitors certain component signals to determine if all the conditions are met to continue with the procedure. The scan tool only displays the condition that inhibits the procedure. The scan tool monitors the following components:
• Crankshaft position (CKP) sensors activity--If there is a CKP sensor condition, refer to the applicable DTC.
• Camshaft position (CMP) signal activity--If there is a CMP signal condition, refer to the applicable DTC.
• Engine coolant temperature (ECT)--If the engine coolant temperature is not warm enough, idle the engine until the engine coolant temperature reaches the correct temperature.
Enable the crankshaft position system variation learn procedure with the scan tool and perform the following:
Important: While the learn procedure is in progress, release the throttle immediately when the engine starts to decelerate. The engine control is returned to the operator and the engine responds to throttle position after the learn procedure is complete.
5.1. Accelerate to WOT.
5.2. Release when fuel cut-off occurs.
5.3. Test in progress.
The scan tool displays Learn Status: Learned this ignition. If the scan tool indicates that DTC P0315 ran and passed, the CKP variation learn procedure is complete. If the scan tool indicates DTC P0315 failed or did not run, refer to DTC P0315. If any other DTCs set, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle in Vehicle DTC Information for the applicable DTC.
Turn OFF the ignition for 30 seconds after the learn procedure is completed successfully.
The CKP system variation learn procedure is also required when the following service procedures have been performed, regardless of whether DTC P0315 is set.

How to bleed the brakes on my 2002 Buick rendezvous cxl

If the standard bleeding procedures do not produce an acceptable pedal you will need a scantool that can activate the automated ABS bleed and a pressure bleeding system.
To bleed the brakes use the standard pattern of RR,LR,RF,LF

ABS Automated Bleed Procedure
Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution in Service Precautions.
Notice: Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Notice in Service Precautions.
Important: In most circumstances a base brake bleed is all that is required for most component replacements (such as wheel cylinders, calipers, brake tubes, and master cylinder) except for brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) replacement.
The following automated ABS bleed procedure is required when one of the following occur:
Manual bleeding at the wheel cylinders does not achieve the desired pedal height or feel.
BPMV replacement
Extreme loss of brake fluid has occurred.
Air ingestion is suspected.
If none of the above conditions apply, use standard bleed procedures.
The auto bleed procedure is used on BOSH 5.3 equipped vehicles. This procedure uses a scan tool to cycle the system solenoid valves and run the pump in order to purge the air from the secondary circuits. These secondary circuits are normally closed off, and are only opened during system initialization at vehicle start up and during ABS operation. The automated bleed procedure opens these secondary circuits and allows any air trapped inside the BPMV to flow out toward the wheel cylinders or calipers where it can be purged out of the system.
Automated Bleed Procedure
Preliminary Inspection
Inspect the battery for full charge, repair the battery and charging system, as necessary.
Connect a scan tool to the data link connector (DLC) and select current and history DTCs. Repair any DTCs prior to performing the ABS bleed procedure.
Inspect for visual damage and leaks and repair, as needed.
Preliminary Setup
Raise and vehicle on a suitable support.
Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
Remove all 4 tires, if necessary.
Connect the pressure bleeding tool according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Turn the ignition switch to RUN position, engine off.
Connect a scan tool and establish communications with the ABS system.
Pressurize the bleeding tool to 206 - 241 kPa (30 - 35 psi) .
Performing the Automated Bleed Procedure
Notice: The Auto Bleed Procedure may be terminated at any time during the process by pressing the EXIT button. No further Scan Tool prompts pertaining to the Auto Bleed procedure will be given. After exiting the bleed procedure, relieve bleed pressure and disconnect bleed equipment per manufacturers instructions. Failure to properly relieve pressure may result in spilled brake fluid causing damage to components and painted surfaces.
With the pressure bleeding tool at 206 - 241 kPa (30 - 35 psi) , and all bleeder screws in closed position, select Automated Bleed Procedure on the scan tool and follow the instructions.
The first part of the automated bleed procedure will cycle the pump and front release valves for one minute. After the cycling has stopped the scan tool will enter a cool down mode and display a 3 minute timer. The auto bleed will not continue until this timer expired, and cannot be overridden.
During the next step, the scan tool will request the technician to open one of the bleeder screws. The scan tool will then cycle the respective release valve and pump motor for one minute.
The scan tool will repeat step 3 for the remaining bleeder screws.
With the bleeder tool still attached to the vehicle and maintaining 241 kPa (35 psi) , the scan tool will instruct the technician to independently open each bleeder screw for approximately 20 seconds. This should allow any remaining air to be purged from the brake lines.
When the automated bleed procedure is completed the scan tool will display the appropriate message.
Install all 4 tires, if necessary refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
Remove pressure from the pressure bleeding tool and then disconnect the tool from the vehicle.
Depress the brake pedal to gage pedal height and feel. Repeat steps 1-8 until the pedal is acceptable.
Remove the scan tool from the DLC connector.
Install.
Lower the vehicle.
Inspect the brake fluid level in master cylinder.
Road test the vehicle while making sure the brake pedal remains high and firm.
If the vehicle is equipped with a traction control system (TCS), the scan tool will cycle both the ABS and the TCS solenoid valves. This bleed procedure is the same as above.

My info says it is located above the starter motor. Info says to remove the starter.

The info also says you have to do a crankshaft variation relearn procedure. I can't help you with that procedure.

2007 aveo misfire faults

gm has a problem with this from way back. double check your spark plugs and if they are not ac delcos, change them. ive seen this time and time again swearing, myself, that there is no way that the plugs would cause this issue. it always comes up with random misfire and usually another 1 or 2 codes misfire codes. put in ac delco, no more codes. let me know

Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair
Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT: Care must be taken when removing the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor. Use penetrating oil and allow to soak around the CKP
sensor before removing the sensor. Twist the sensor to break the O-ring seals loose. When removing the sensor, pull the sensor straight out of the
engine block at the same angle the sensor was installed. Failure to be careful may result in sensor damage.
1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
2. Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor harness connector at the CKP sensor.
3. Remove the fuel line bracket and retaining bolt.
4. Use penetrating oil and allow to soak around the CKP sensor before removing the sensor.
5. Remove the CKP sensor retaining bolt.
6. Prior to removal of the CKP sensor, rotate the sensor back and forth.
7. Remove the CKP sensor at the same angle at which the CKP sensor was installed.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT: Inspect the CKP sensor O-ring for wear or damage. If a problem is found, replace the O-ring. Lubricate the new O-ring with engine
oil before installing.
1. Install the CKP sensor at the same angle at which the CKP sensor was removed.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the CKP sensor retaining bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
3. Connect the CKP sensor harness connector.
4. Install the fuel line bracket and retaining bolt.
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Perform the CKP System Variation Learn Procedure. See: Testing and Inspection/Programming and Relearning

1. Install a scan tool.

3. Close the vehicle's hood.
4. With a scan tool, select the crankshaft position variation learn procedure.
5. Observe the fuel cut-off for the engine that you are performing the learn procedure on.
6. The scan tool instructs you to perform the following:
^ Apply the vehicles parking brake.
^ Block the drive wheels.
^ Cycle the ignition from OFF to ON.
^ Apply and hold the brake pedal.
^ Start and idle the engine.
^ Turn OFF the A/C.
^ Place the vehicle's transmission in Park (A/T) or Neutral (M/T).
^ The scan tool monitors certain component signals to determine if all the conditions are met to continue with the procedure. The scan tool only
displays the condition that inhibits the procedure. The scan tool monitors the following components:
- Crankshaft position (CKP) sensors activity - If there is a CKP sensor condition, refer to DTC P0335 or DTC P0336.
- Camshaft position (CMP) sensor activity- If there is a CMP sensor condition, refer to DTC P0341, DTC P0342 or DTC P0343.

7. With the scan tool, enable the crankshaft position system variation learn procedure.
IMPORTANT: While the learn procedure is in progress, release the throttle immediately when the engine starts to decelerate. The engine control is
returned to the operator and the engine responds to throttle position after the learn procedure is complete.
8. Slowly increase the engine speed to the RPM that you observed.
9. Immediately release the throttle when fuel cut-off is reached.
10. The scan tool displays Learn Status: Learned this ignition. If the scan tool does NOT display this message and no additional DTCs set, refer to
Symptoms - Engine Mechanical. If a DTC set, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List for the applicable DTC that set.
11. Turn OFF the ignition for 30 seconds after the learn procedure is completed successfully.
