HP Compaq 8510p freezes when I launch youtube website. IE is the browser that I'm in. Mozilla doesn't react the same way. MS says Im missing a driver. Computer reboots itself after blue screen error.

Follow the steps below to start Windows in Safe Mode.

Remove all CDs and DVDs from the computer.

Restart the computer.

At the first screen on restart, before the HP or Windows logo appears, press the f8 key repeatedly.

When prompted, select the Safe Mode

Log onto the computer with a user account that has administrator rights.
Type msconfig into the run box. Then choose LAUNCH SYSTEM RESTORE and restore back to a time all was well.

If you can view other websites but youtube doesn't work for you, most likely you need to update Adobe Flash Player on your laptop. You can do so by following below instructions:
1. Open web browser(like IE, Mozilla, etc) and go to
http://www.adobe.com
2. Click on "Downloads" section or tab
3. Once you are directed to the "Featured product downloads" section, click on the "Get ADOBE FLASH PLAYER" at the right side of the page.
4. You will then be directed to another page containing the latest version of Adobe Flash Player (i.e. Adobe Flash Player 11.1.102.55). Version may change from time to time.
If you do not want to install the Free Google Toolbar kindly uncheck the box that says "Yes, install Google Toolbar-optional "
5. Click on "Download Now". When you get the prompt or security warning window just click "Run". If you get another prompt asking "Do you want to run this software?" just click "Run" again.
6. When User Account Control dialog box appears, click "Yes".
7. Once installation is complete just click "Finish".

Try to view youtube again. If it still doesn't work try using a different browser like Google Chrome. You may download it for free. Hope this helps.

Click on Start then >Control panel>hardware and sound >device manager>imaging devices>web cam....enable it
Another way is to use a IM application like:
Yahoo messenger,MSN Messenger,NetMeeting,etc.
They will have video capabilities that will work with your webcam.
If this doesn't work, then reinstall your drivers.

Well Sunkengarden, the videos you are watching on YouTube or any such websites are the Flash Player Applications. That means, the Browser on which you are trying watch the videos, needs Flash Player Application to be installed on your computer. Such traditionally most widely used flash players are Adobe Flash Player and Microsoft Silverlight.
While you are using Google Chrome, there is no problem just because of Google Chrome already have in-built flash player within it. But the problem remains for IE or other Browsers.
Different Web-Browsers use different types of Adobe Flash Players (IE type or Non-IE type). So, for best results, I recommend you to install both the IE and Non-IE Adobe Flash Players on your computer to have all the browsers play the videos without any problem.
Download the Flash Players by clicking on the following links:

• Adobe Flash Player for IE (IE, Avant,etc)
• Adobe Flash Player for Non-IE (Mozilla, Mozilla Firefox and other Geeko based browsers)

What is the browser you are using? Did you try firefox browser? internet explorer is a nightmare when it comes to displaying flash content.
