I turned on my xbox360, the speakers were working normally, i removed the VGA cable to confirm it was a VGA cable (want to buy an extension lead for it) then reconnected the cable, now neither of the subwoofer nor the speakers work at all ..

How connect to BenQ mp620p- xBox360 ? Thanks good luck

If you've got the version with a DVI input, use a HDMI to DVI cable. That'll take care of picture but not sound. You need to hook up an audio cable that finishes in a 3.5mm stereo jack if you want to use the Benq's speaker.

If you have the older version with just a VGA input then buy an Xbox 360 VGA cable. You'll also need an audio adapter; 2x phono/RCA sockets going to 3.5mm stereo jack.

Xbox360 to pc monitor

HDMI to DVI works better than HDMI to VGA because VGA only uses simple RBG scheme.

Additionally the only way i see the Xbox getting connected to the extrenal speakers is if you get the speakers connected to the monitor/tv or whatever you are using directly. I havent tried or do not know of any way to connect the Xbox to speakers directly.

I can't connect my xbox360 to my sony pfm-42b2 tv

Keep in mind that your Sony IS NOT A TV, but a monitor instead. There is an actual XBOX360 VGA adapter that's available at most gaming retailers. It was initially designed for those who wanted to use their PC monitors for there console gaming. HDMI is NOT compatible with a VGA input as HDMI is a digital signal type and VGA is an analog type connection. You must also remember to have the XBOX set to a NON-progressive resolution (480i) if trying to hook it up using the standard XBOX video cables.

We are trying to hook our TV up to our computer to use it as a monitor. What cords do we need to do this besides the normal monitor cord?

if you want audio as well, it will depend on what kind of audio connection your tv has next to the VGA (computer monitor) connection. If it looks like the normal RCA audio, (red and white plugs) you will need to get a male headphone jack (to plug into your computer headphone or speaker out jack) to stereo RCA cable so you would have a headphone jack on one side of the cable and a red and white plug on the other side. Now if your TV just has what look like a headphone jack next to the VGA (computer monitor plug) you will need to buy a male to male stereo headphone jack cable. for both of these, just make sure the cable you get it long enough, or buy an extension.

I tried to extend the length of my front right speaker (power/vol) by purchasing a male to female VGA extension cord. When I connected bothe cables together and then to the sub everything stopped working...

I doubt the extension cord has something to do with that...Usually if the wires are short it would effect the main unit. Check the wires first, not only of the front right speaker but the others also...if they are short. If there's a fuse in the main unit you might find yourself lucky...otherwise you will have to get it checked by a mechanic.

I have just installed a Acer LCD #X223W moniter. What do I need to do to get my speakers to work with it? Is there a missing port or do I need a new cable. This moniter has a HDVi cable but the Computer...

Did you give the correct model of the Acer monitor you have?

When I looked up the X223W monitor, I see a monitor with a DVI-D port and VGA port. Only the VGA cable is usually included in the box. If your computer has a VGA port (most older computers that came with only the video chip on the motherboard), you can either use the VGA cable or get a VGA to DVI adapter and use a DVI-D cable (purchase separately). Alternatively, check the specs of your power supply and available card slots and buy a new video card with a DVI port. If you have only a DVI port on your computer, get the DVI cable (the VGA to DVI adapter would work but isn't a good option).

If I read the specs correctly, this monitor doesn't have speakers. You should plug your speakers into the audio out of your computer. If you use the on-board audio you will see at least two jacks (microphone/line in) and audio out (speakers). Many audio cards and some motherboards come with additional jacks for surround sound so check your system information. Audio extension cables are a cheap solution if the speaker cables are too short to reach to your computer.

I hope this helps.
