have you checked the lamp? with those models they will power up and if the lamp is bad you can hear audio until the tv shuts off. the lamp is located in the front behind the speaker grill assembly. if the "status" light is blinking then you are having a fan failure if the "lamp" light is on then check the lamp like i listed above.
It sounds like you need to replace the lamp for your TV unit. Also don't forget to replace the lamp use hours timer otherwise the TV unit will not recognize a new lamp has been installed. I hope this helps. Good luck.
This is a common problem and usually shows up when power is interrupted. The capacitors in the micro, digital, and power supply have to be replaced. In my shop, we prefer to send the chassis to Mitsubishi and they repair it. Do you have a local authorized Mitsubishi service center near you?
If the lamp light turns red and the set wont power up put the V26 Power repair kit in and that should take care of it. The kit contains the capacitors and detailed instructions on CD
when you replace the lamp as soon as you power up the set it should automatically bring up the menu asking if you have replaced the lamp and would you like to resett the lamp hrs. Your problem is not with the lamp. its most likely the power pwb capacitors. You can get the repair kit at the following link with instructions. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
