Neptune won't advance from Rinse to SPIN

My Maytag Neptune TL Washer keeps giving me the dc (unbalanced) and uc (can't spin) codes. It seems to **t want to go into spin during the rinse cycle. I have readjusted the load, but ** matter; it does it again and again. I can stop it and start spin only and it will work - may need a readjustment of the load (whether small or larger) and start spin again. But, I need to find out what is wrong as babying it along is **t the answer. Help! I have similar problems to Donna's.  Washer works fine until final spin, then I get a dc error code.  No amount of readjusting the load has an impact.  Washer was purchased in 2004. I also purchased my Neptune TL in 2004 and in July 2008 it started having the same issue. With about 11 or 12 minutes remianing in the wash cycle, it will not advance to Spin. Please let me know if it is possible to repair the issue or if I should just go ahead and buy a new washing machine.

When I have a small load or a "bulky" load it won't spin...out of balance. The only way that I can get it to spin is to put two very large "beach" towels (dry) in with the wet....then it will work. What a pain. I bought mine in November 2004. No support...no help.

We will be going out a buying another machine from anyone but Maytag. What a piece of junk!!!

Same problem, stops with code 'dc' and leaves clothes soaking wet. Only solution is to hand-wring the clothes and finish out the cycle with the washer empty.

Going into the spin cycle the washer tumbles the load and then tries to start spinning; upon the first "bump" of unbalance it shuts off the spin, waits, and tumbles again. After about 5 times it gives up and displays dc.

I found the service manual and put the washer into its service mode. Codes 84, 10, and 22 were logged. After a reset only code 84 reappears after performing a quick spin test. This code isn't documented in the manual. What is it?

It looks like the tumble displacement sensor is working ok, maybe the struts fail after a really bad unbalanced load and have to be replaced. With our unit, there is no indication the control board or clutch are bad.

What a waste of money. Unless its a part I can replace, I'll go out and buy a whirlpool and send this unit to the dump.

If the clutch fails the first thing noticed is a UC or DC error displayed and there is no drain or spin.

If you are seeing the above error and having a problem with spin and drain then the most likely cause of this is the clutch. The clutch fails to lock down the spinners and the basket is unable to go into spin and without a 90 RPM there is no drain.

Replace the clutch.

Washer bangs around in spin cycle and throws a DC or UC unballance code with cloths in the wash basket is that correct?

If so it's a Clutch issue.

If you want read more about what I feel is your issue read this post Maytag Neptune load unbalance

Maytag neptune top load washer will not spin out with small loads, large loads are fine. I get the DC error at about 10 mins left in spin cycle. No amount of shifting load will solve problem

This is a Clutch issue could be a easy fix if the Tub Seal is not the root cause.

If you get no help at this forum Google This ""Neptune TL Washer FAV6800AWW""

5th post down you will find the SM and support for the "DC and UC" unbalance error codes. Good luck..............DH1200s

Neptune Washer Spin Cycle

If your FAV6800A or FAV9800A wash tub is banging around in Spin Cycle of the Wash Cycle and your Control Board signals a dC or uC error code to the console I feel you have a Clutch malfunction. I feel the TDS is working as designed with the unblance error code shut down.
See my Clutch Fix post for more info related to dC and uC unbalance errors with the FAV6800A and FAV9800A TL’s and the repair action…….Rich

What is your machine model number? Is it a FAV6800A or FAV9800A TL?

If it’s a FAV6800A or FAV9800A TL do you error out in the Spin cycle of the wash cycle with an unbalance error code such as dC or uC?

If so see this post Clutch Fix. I have a step by step maintenance/repair process for Clutch Pulley assembly issues related to the above error codes.

Post back if you have questions or concerns………Rich

Not happy with Maytag Neptune TL Washer

I assume you are taking dc/UC errors to the console. This is a classic problem with the FAV6800AW/FAV9800AW after the 3yr to 5 yr mark. I own the machine and decided to learn what was involved to repair the machine. Take a look at this post and see if will give you some insight to a DIY fix to resolve the unbalance errors. No fix for the tumbler action of twisting up the clothes. After a re-lube of the one-way roller clutch bearing I could wash a single pair of socks or over load the wash basket with bath towels and extra water in the tub with no unbalance errors (dc/UC).

Shout back if you have any questions.

Here is a quick test for the TSD sensor but I believe you have a clutch issue. The TDS test is in the SM I’ve typed it out if you want to give a quick check. I’m sure you will pass and find the one-way roller clutch berings are dry/rusted and causing the dc/UC unbalance condition.

3.0 Tub Displacement Sensor Diagnostics check.

It is possible the Tub Displacement Sensor may have failed try this check which is in the Troubleshooting guide stored in your washer console or refer to the SM.

3a. Enter the Service Mode by pressing and holding the Enviro Plus and Spin Only keys for three seconds or the display reads “00”

3b. Press the Super Wash key display reads “in”…something like that.

3c. Press Delicates the Display will show “UC” (Unbalance Closed).

3d. Push tub to the back right corner of the machine the display should change to “UO” (Unbalance open). Release tub and the display will show “UC” (Unbalance Closed).

3e. Press Hand Wash.

3f. Pull tub to the front left corner while pushing the tub down the display should change to “UO” (Unbalance open). If you get these results your Tub Displacement sensor should be OK and I believe it’s not the component failure producing dc/UC errors in spin cycle. I would remove the clutch for inspection and re-lube or replace if necessary. There is a more technical troubleshooting method to check Tub Displacement Sensor in the Troubleshooting guide and Service manual.

UC code on may Maytag Neptune Washer FAV6800WW

Continuous Unbalanced Circuit. Improper signal from Tub Displacement Sensor.
Wet Clothes • Very small clothes loads can cause unbalanced loads - add additional towels. • Excessive suds may have been present. • Check Tub Displacement Sensor connection and main harness connector at machine control board. • Check Tub Displacement Sensor for 0 to 3.0 Volts DC output voltage between ground and the board input. Check for 12 Volts DC input voltage between the ground and the board output. Only check for voltage at the Tub Displacement Sensor. Do not perform a continuity check. See Tub Displacement Diagnostics • Excessive motion was detected in spin Run Quick Spin Test with an empty tub to check Tub Displacement Sensor and machine control board. • Check for restricted drain system.

Maytag neptune tl won't spin codes dc and uc

Helllo krbdy,
Did you follow this post for your clutch work?
If the clutch pulley bolt is not snug, don’t over torque or not seated properly it will spin off. It seem’s that you reseated the clutch pulley OK it hasn’t spun off.
Did your clutch have both the upper oneway roller clutch bearing and the clutch hub mounted oneway roller clutch bearing? After clean up/re-lube did the spinner coupler shaft (that’s what I call it) rotate freely CW in both oneway clutch roller bearings (if you series machine used two)?
The tub leak is a concern if it’s over the clutch pulley you may have a tub seal issue. Can you ID where the water is coming from?
I will give you an e-mail with contact number if you want to discuss I’m an owner no expert but will try to help.

Wont spin with clothes

Common problem with this model I own it. Sounds like the roller clutch bearings in your machine are seized/rusted up. Do you want to try to DIY the repair? Read thru this post for the details of what is involved. Post back with any questions. Rich

Uc code error

uc code means unbalanced condition. My research shows this as being an unbalanced load or a faulty control board.
Make sure your load is balanced, otherwise you may have to replace the control board.
