To clarify, your TV is working correctly, since you get sound and video from all devices - Only your PS3 has no sound or video?
If your PS3 was previously used with regular AV cables (Red/White/Yellow) then you most likely need to do a PS3 video reset t output video over HDMI.
With the PS3 OFF, press and continue holding the power button until it turns on, beeps twice, and then turns back off. Do not release the power button during this process.
You may have to try the video reset a few times if it doesn't work right away.
After video reset, you should get sound and video over HDMI.
SOURCE: LG 47" LCD TV - 47LC7DF Clicking Noise
I was told that these clicking noises (which happen on my Magnavox LCD too) were due to the "power required" at the internal switch. Seems that the power required to immediately turn on the TV is too much for a standalone household outlet, so it "surges" power in a series to get enough there. Hence, the clicking sounds are actually mini power surges to send more power to the internal circuits to turn the TV on.
If your set is like mine, these noises generally stop after a minute or two, correct?

Sounds like your DVI converter. DVI provides picture only, no sound. If your TV has an digital optical input socket, it's best to connect PS3 to TV using this, then digital stereo sound should be yours..

jareddirk30:
you didn't mention what software version your ps3 is. in this digital age it's important to keep software levels up to date, with some exceptions. i'm including the web address for sony so you can update the ps3, but i don't think it's the problem. once you're are on their site you click on the ps3 picture & that link will take you to the software update pg. there you can review previous software updates. i quickly reviewed 1 of those & didn't see anything that addresses your problem.

have you verified that the HDMI inputs are are enabled correctly? thereare 4 inputs. refer to pgs 25 & 26 of the owner's manual.
I would put the heat on your LG retailer. clearly the new main board is suspect. you had the functions prior to the swap. the board is probably defective, but with a different problem than what you had previously. i visited LG's site. they currently have nothing in their knowledge base that mentions the your problem, nor is there a software update.
if you need additional help. write back. good luck.
peace-out

Have you tried another HDMI cable? The cable may be bad. However, if this is not the case and this is happening across mutliple devices(cable box, dvd player, etc) then you might have a bad HDMI input on your TV. Does this happen on all HDMI inputs on your TV? If you can safely rule out your other devices and the cable itself then you've got a main board problem and would need to get it replaced.

With the PS3 and the TV properly connected and both units off turn on the TV and set the input to the proper HDMI setting then press and hold the power on button on the PS3 until it beeps twice. This should resolve your issue. Please let me know how it works for you.
