Hi, the tv comes on ok for about 15 seconds then goes black and all 3 lamps start blinking. when I try to shut it off it repeats the cycle. I have to unplug it to shut it off

Hello, count the blinking light pattern. It may blink 2 to 9 times, pause and repeat the pattern again. Does it ever light the screen when it's cycling on and off? Let me know....tks

Many sets that use lamps do this right before the lamp fails--average life is 2000 hours or 2 years of normal use--if no blinking lights suspect the lamp first.

Suspect number one is not fan, lamp or Color wheel--optical light engine with dmd is.

approximately 30 seconds, and the TV
will turn on automatically.

If light blinks, pauses for about a

minute, and blinks again: the lamp is

trying to turn on (TV will turn on

on and sequence continues, the lamp also

Ur right the cooling fan is defective,check it,clean it might work normal again.Not, than the cooling fan must be change.

make sure put the lamp door back before trying to turn it on because they have switches on them that allow the tv to turn on. If that is ok you probably have a bad ballast.
Call a local tv repair shop to further diagnose the problem.

3 times blink shows lamp cover is removed or not installed properly on TV.
Please take out lamp inside TV and check, seems its broken as you heard loud pop.

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

If you TV is about 2 1/2 yr you probably need a new lamp they only last about 3 yrs. Mine popped one night and now picture comes in for about 1 min and goes out, I ordered a new lamp today they run $199. There is also a know issue with the thermal fuse. The part cost about $3 and if you know a lil about electronic you can replace it yourself
