I replaced a standard single pole light switch with a lutron Meastro dimmer switch with remote. It does not work. I replaced the standard switch and all was good. This circuit is on the same line a gfci outlet. I have tried two Meastro switches and the problem remains. What is the problem?

Hello. There could be a couple of possibilities. First is the simplest to verify, is it a Companion Dimmer, Standard Dimmer switches or a 600W or 1000W Maestro Wireless Multi-location Dimmer. The Maestro Companion Dimmers can not be used individually, as they do not control a load, and must be used along with a Maestro or Maestro Wireless Multi-location Dimmer. The Campanion Dimmers are also a line/low voltage rating, and rated for incandescent and halogen but may not handle some flourescent fixtures. The other thing I can think of is that you may have interfearence from another item. They are radio frequency (RF) devices that communicate together for wireless control of lights. Here's two links that may be of some help, the second has downloadable install instructions.

Hope this helps out, don't forget to rate this answer.

Thank You,
Richard

I have two black wires in box attached to regular light switch & want to know if I can install a Skylark S-603PG single pole dimmer switch which has one black , one red&white, red and green wires

This is single-pole -or- 3-way dimmer
Manual shows on following link:
http://www.lutron.com/TechnicalDocumentLibrary/0301107A.pdf

1) Manual says: The red/white wire is not used in a single-pole application. Twist a wire
nut over this wire for a single-pole application.
2) Green wire connects to bare ground wire. Or bare ground to bare ground.
3) Connect dimmer-red and dimmer-black to either insulated wire that came off of old switch

Ok i installed the Maestro IR on a switch that runs a celing fan with a light on it. i turned the power back on in the room and the light was flickering and the fan was unresponsive. please help!!

Lutron Maestro IR shows several model numbers:
http://www.lutron.com/Service-Support/Technical/InstallationInstructions/Pages/InstallationInstructions.aspx?syst=Dimmers+%26+Switches&prodn=Maestro+IR%C2%AE+dimmer

You posted under MIR600 single pole digital fade dimmer for incandescent and halogen.
Installation manual:
http://www.lutron.com/TechnicalDocumentLibrary/030864b.pdf
If this is not your dimmer, then add a comment with exact model number so I can read that manual and look for trouble spots.

The manual does not say 'Fan'
It appears this dimmer is for incandescent and Halogen lights.
Manual gives Lutron 24hr/7day tech support number 1-800-523-9466

If you do not want to add a comment for more free assistance, and do not want to call Lutron, then take advantage of fixya phone service.

We have an older maestro style lutron dimmer switch with a horizontal slide button at the bottom that can turn it on and off. we are using this button to operate the light b/c the vertical...

These in-wall devices stop working and need to be replaced from time to time.
There are no repair parts.
Generally dimmers don't last as long as ordinary light switch, because they are electronic instead of mechanical.

Lutron makes the widest selection of dimmers.
http://www.lutron.com/Products/StandAloneControls/Dimmers-Switches/Pages/DimmersSwitches.aspx

Use link above to identify dimmer.
For example Skylark dimmer.

Then google search for a replacement.
For example: single pole 600 watt lutron skylark dimmer
Or: 3-way 600 watt skylark dimmer
Lutron also makes 1800 watt dimmers for larger loads.

We have the slider lutron dual fan control/light dimmer single pole switch and need to install it to work with our fan/light combo which also operates with a remote. How do you install the combo switch? We...

I don't think you can do what you are trying. The fan & light are on one circuit. Probably, originally, there was only a light fixture there. The fan/light is on a single circuit and the remote does the controlling of both units.
Now, you are trying to install a fan control and light dimmer but you don't have wiring for each separately.
You might be able to use one of the dimmer controls to adjust the output to the fan/light combination, but you can't control them individually, if I understand your wiring.

I have a DL-3PSLHW-WH switch with no wiring diagram. It is single pole or 3-way. Need diagram.

You posted under Lutron 3-way dimmer.

You didn't say the number of screw terminals on device or color of those screws.
If your device has two brass screws, then it is single pole.
If your device has 2 brass screws and 1 dark screw, then device is 3-way
If you are replacing 3-way switch, identify wire on dark screw >> connect this wire to dark screw on dimmer. Other two wires connect to either brass screw.

If device has wires instead of screws, the color of those wires is an important clue.
Answer back with the colors of those wire and it is easier to help.

Different dimmers are suitable for different types of lighting.
In an effort to help you, I searched my files for Lutron dimmers.
Lutron has 17 dimmer types, with numerous models under each type
They don't show DL-3PS
http://www.lutron.com/Products/StandAloneControls/Dimmers-Switches/Pages/DimmersSwitches.aspx

Lutron has NT-3PS
http://www.lutron.com/Products/StandAloneControls/Dimmers-Switches/NovaTDimmer/Pages/ModelNumbers.aspx

The NT-3PS is a 3-way dimmer.
Here is wiring manual:

If the help above does not get you going, answer back with more information and we can help.

Where can I find replacement knobs for the dual slider lutron fan light switches?

I don't think they're a standard off-the-shelf item. But I would call Lutron's tech support center at 1-800-523-9466 - they're available 24/7 and they'll probably just send you some.

Trying to hook up a Lutron fan control and dimmer

The old switch is just a single pole switch. The new one is for fan speed control. You need to use a regular single pole switch like you had. Or you can use a single pole switch on the Lutron you bought if you can figure out which wires to use. Do you have a meter?
