I lost my power plug to charge my camera - my boyfriend suggested I plug it into our computer to charge it. I told him it wouldn't work, however left it in to appease his curiosity. Of course, it still wouldn't charge, but we found a plug that fit into the slot for a wall plug (one that he had I believe it was a 5V) but when we put it into the camera the charging light did not come on. Will this camera charge from the computer - and mine is just not working? Or is the 5V wall charger just not going to work on my camera?
THANKS
I too lost my charger for my camvcorder when we went to Las Vegas and not sure where to get another one...its a Jazz DV179...anyone have a solution? have not used it in 3 years...used it once and that was it..please help!!! thanks
I found out finally - after replacing the battery and even buying a new charger that the camera just would not charge the battery anymore - the camera workse great but we had to go buy a seperate li ion battery charger to charge the battery. After charging it via the battery charger it works great once again!

Try taking out the battery and turning it around. Making
sure it's in correctly. Plug the USB cable in the back under the directional
pad. Pleas, rate me!
i think its is a problem that most of the jazz elite are having.i had mine for only two days then it went dead.i brought to repairs and they told me to throw it away.i put it back in the box and put it away. about 4 weeks after i decide to take it up and plug it in. to my surprise it starts to work and it works perfectly well. just give a little time.i know how u feel
I believe that the camera will not charge directly from the computer - testing this theory myself... however I went to Radio Shack tonight and they have them there for 30 bucks (a bit outragious if you as me)
YOU PEOPLE IT IS JUST THE BATTERY THAT IS IN IT!.. BECAUSE THAT BATTERY IS NOT ONLY FOR AFTER IT IS CHARGED IT ALSO WORKS TO SHOW THE DISPLAY SCREEN! BECAUSE IF YOU TAKE OUT THE BATTERY THE LIGHT STAYS ON WHILE ITS PLUGGED INTO THE COMPUTER! MY BF IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM TRY BUYING A NEW BATTERY!! ITS THE SOLUTION! the battery is caput!
According to the jazz camera website (http://www.jazzcameras.com/Product_Details/DV-169.htm) The DV169 uses a "NP 60 Rechargeable Li-ion Battery" I would do an ebay or google shopping search for "NP 60 Charger"...by the looks of it these are used by many different digital camera companies, but make sure to compare yours to the one in the pictures...plus look at your battery itself and make sure it says NP-60 somewhere on it. If you prevoiusly had to plug something directly into the Jazz camera, now you would just remove the bettery from the unit and charge it externally. Plus it looks like there are a bunch of deals where you could get a second battery out of it too.
i cant find a battery charger
