Unplug the power cables from both your DSL modem and D-Link router.
Verify the Ethernet cable is plugged into both your DSL modem and the D-Link router.
Plug the DSL modem power cable back in and wait for the self-test to finish.
Plug the D-Link router power cable back in and wait for the self-test to finish.
Plug your laptop into the D-Link router using an Ethernet cable.
Can you access the D-Link configuration page now?

Check to see if your computer is getting an IP address from the D-Link router.
Here's how to do that, assuming you're using Windows.
Hold down the Windows key on your keyboard then press the letter R.
In the Run dialog box type 'cmd' (without the apostrophes).
Click OK.
In the command prompt window type 'ipconfig /all' (without the apostrophes).
Press Enter.
Look for the line that reads 'Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection'.
Verify that 'Dhcp Enabled' is set to 'Yes".

Network is "Hidden"

Try a router reboot.

1. Unplug the Router

2. Shut down and restart the laptops, unplug the XBOX for 20 secondes even though its working.

3. Replug the router.

If this doesnt work you can try resetting the router to the factory settings.

Can I piggyback a wireless router onto a hard-wired router?

Yes, you can connect the DI-624 to your exitsing EBR-2310, you just need to connect the a cable from port 4 of the EBR-2310 to the internet/wan port of the DI-624, then after that you can already use now the wireless to your laptop and also the wired router to your desktops.
But I may suggest you to just replace the EBR-2310 with the DI-624 so you will only be using 1 router that can cater your laptop and also your desktop, Just connect the cable from your modem that is conencted now to your EBR-2310 to the internet/wan port of the DI-624 then run the setup CD that should be it.

Hope that helps...........

Windows Vista to a Wireless DI-624 problems

I have a Toshiba Satellite connected to a Di-624m and I have the same problem.

One solution to many problems with D-Link is to ;

UNPLUG BOTH MODEM AND D-LINK.

WAIT 20 SECONDS (TWENTY SECONDS)

PLUG BACK IN AND TRY TO CONNECT.

DO NOT JUST SHUT THE POWER OFF, IT IS NOT THE SAME!

IF YOU DONT UNPLUG LONG ENOUGH IT WILL NOT WORK.

RECCOMENDATIONS:
CONNECT DIRECT WITH A LAN CABLE TO D-LINK

EVEN BETTER
CONNECT TO YOUR MODEM WITH A LAN OR USB-VERY FAST.

REPLACE THE D-LINK HUB! (LESS THAN A $100 !?!?!?)

WARNINGS-

OUR D-LINK ROUTER HAS CAUSED PROBLEMS FOR THE PAST YEAR ON OUR NETWORK, SOME OF THESE PROBLEMS WE BLAMED ON VISTA.

This wireless enviroment can corrupt downloads.
I went crazy trying to solve several download errors.
connecting direct to the hub with a lan cable solved the problem.

I have totally lost faith in this wireless system.
sorry D-link the di-264m is HISTORY soon.!

Di-624 stopped working

Hi sailaway!
. Make sure the router is going from the modem, to the port marked WAN, on the 624. You can test the cable, by plugging it directly into you computer, from the modem, if you want to. Disconnect the power from your modem, your router, and turn off your computer Wait 1 min. Turn on the Router, wait three full min's. Power up the 624, and wait one min. Power up the PC. Reason for the long wait on the modem is that it has to get data from the internet, to give to the router. If that don't hwlp, try changing the cable from the PC to the router, to a different port. If all that don't work, try resetting the router by gentley pressing a straightened out paperclip into the reset hole in the back. Hold it for 30 sec. If that fail resetting it, try holding it in while you unplug the 624 and plug it back in. If it resets, go thru the first steps to set it up again. If all that fails, your 624 may be bad. Had that happen to me. The steps I listed brought it back to life for about 2 months, and it died completely. Good Luck!

Factory default

The following reset procedure will completely restore the default settings on the VDI-604 and VDI-624. Note: If you do not remember your password, you will have to reset the router to factory defaults. Step 1 Locate the reset pinhole on the back of the unit. Step 2 With the unit powered on, press and hold the Reset button. Step 3 Hold the Reset button for about 10 seconds. Step 4 Release the Reset button. Step 5 The unit will reboot. Allow 20-30 seconds before reconnecting. Step 6 The device is now at factory defaults. Note: Do not recycle power during the reset procedure. VDI-604 firmware 1.05F/VDI-624 firmware 2.39DDM - The default username is admin and the default password is blank (nothing). VDI-604 firmware 1.07 Build 28/VDI-624 firmware 2.43 Build 12 - The default username is admin and the default password is password. Note: After resetting the router to factory defaults, you will need to contact Verizon to reconfigure your WAN settings.
