Took filter out to clean and now have a humming sound when the hood is turned on but the motor is not working.

a humming noise is a frequency noise meaning the motor is not running
check / replace the start/run capacitor for the pump motor
call an electrician for a proper diagnosis

fuel pump is getting weak

An old elecricians joke says "do you know why it hums? It dosn't know the words" Al kidding aside ,have you checked to see how free the fan blade is? The should spin very freely. It kind of sounds to me like it may be having a hard time comming up to full speed. You may try some graphite lube on the motor. If I recall Broan has a lifetime garrentee on the motor. You might just want to repace it if I am correct.

listen carefully to the hum if it sounds like the motor is running its a broken belt, if it sounds like its not turning it could be the capacitor on the motor.

In my case I took the motor out and used a screw driver to turn the impeller in the front of the pump and the fins inthe back. Put it back together and it worked. I then used 2 tablesoons of dishwashing detergent and 1/2 cup bleach and ran it for 20 minutes to clean and degrease the impellers

the only other filter is the condensor but that wont stop it from turning if there is a humming noise when its ment to be turning its sounds like motor,or capictor or the drum has jammed.

this could be something caught in the blower housing fan blade but what it sounds like is the motor is going into thermal overload (overheating)

if the valve is humming and the tap is on it should fill.is there a plv fitted to the tap somtimes they fail.i had one today on an asko for not filling.remove the hose from the dishwasher and turn the hose on into a bucket to see if water comes through.the valve could still be faulty.hope this helps.

If nothing is blocking ager .. sounds like motor bad or something binding it up. If you took in out and cleaned all ice out and still dont work with no ice.. sounds like motor ..if it hums power is to motor
