Just clean shower head and faucet with CLR solution to increase water flow. p1 means water flow is restricted. Same thing happen to me.

P1 is reportedly defective check valve that can cause water flow to decrease, and tankless not heat water smoothly. But can also be other causes, or combination of causes. Call service technician, contact Rheem, or replace check valve and see if problem solves. Then add a comment with solution so others can benefit from your experience.

How to manually reignite rinnai infinity 26

what i would recommend is to turn power off to unit, turn water off, now open a hot tap inside. Go back to hw unit , turn power back on, now turn HW cold water tap to open. Now you should hear the unit start up.& click continuosly, this is the unit trying to lite. The unit has a flow sensor so as water passes threw it ,that tells unit when to lite. If you hear nothing & no water comming threw you strainer located above cold shut off tap is blocked, unscrew black knob & check. If you have flow & no HW check your gas, usally by losening gas union, there is also filter above this. Also plug another power tool into power point to check you have power

PTG-53XN error code p1. And hot water turns off.

Before calling service technician, open following link for Rheem troubleshoot resources including Rheem chat:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Troubleshoot-Rheem-Tankless-water-heater.html

Error codes are considered start point for troubleshooting, and can sometimes mislead.
Error P1 is 'not enough water to operate the unit:'
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/Rheem-Error-code-P1.pdf

This problem can be caused by plumbing problems such as crossover, or clogged water lines, or dirty water filter, or clogged water softener, or temperature of unit set too high. Or combination of these problems.
Remember if temperature is set very high, then more cold water is used at the faucet. This means less hot water is drawn through the tankless water heater, so the flow rate may drop below activation threshold.

I have a RMTG-53dvn piped in parrallel with a traditional water heater because I used to have two traditional in parallel. The unit never kicked on with no trouble code, so I piped in series with a...

I could see how it might not work in parallel. Much water would go thru the conventional heater, so there would be low flow thru the tankless.
Now, the tankless is getting hot water from the conventional. Try shutting the conventional heater's power source off so the water gets cold, then see what happens with the tankless.

For the past couple of weeks, when we try to use hot water in the morning the system shuts off. The error message we get is C7. Often we can turn off the control panel, turn it back on again and then it...

Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.

Turn the power off and remove the cover. Find the two terminals that the remote control connects to and disconnect the remote control wiring. Turn the power back on and open the hot water tap and see if the unit comes on. If it comes on, this is a problem with either the remote itself or more likely the wiring between the remote and the tankless unit itself. Without a remote it will control to 120 degrees F. and will run without the remote.

I tried to help you. Please help me and Rate/Vote on my response, thanks and good luck

Remote control unit flashes 76. No buttons on the remote will function. Water heater will not come on when there is a demand for hot water. Any suggestions?

Remove power source from the unit. If remote control is installed; remove cover and lift the control wires on the terminal...can be accomplished from either end.

Restore power and see if unit functions normally.

Contact Paloma/Rheem customer (800-432-8373) support and notify them IF you are getting a code "76" error. Rheem has recently extended the warranty on the "Burner Control Assm."; which is your problem. The C4-C8 portion of the error code, is where the unit stops the ignition process...burner fails to light, or gives you intermittent hot water. In either case, contact customer support .

If this helps, please indicate so.

Rheem RTG 53 PVN with fault codes C4 or C7

I had the same problem with my tankless waterheater (flashing c4 76 alternately). I called Rheem
tech support and they had me 1 power down the remotepanel 2 unplug the unit from the wall 3 remove the cover 4 remove the wires for the remote panel from the circuit board and pull the twisted pair that goes to the remote out from the bottom of the unit. 5 reinstall the cover 6 plug the unit back
into the wall and turn on the hot water see if it works. It did in my case and they are sending me a new remote panel. I hope it helps.........
