Hellow, hope you're having a good day. I have a kenmore refrigerator model # 596.65939401 ser# 11197289JC. The freezer is working fine, but upper refrigerator has very little cooling, I have cleaned condensor coils, reset temp control to off then to 4, checked vent behind crisper for obstructions. Frige seems to run all the time, not cycling. Damper control was replaced 12months ago because it was noisy, I can hear it operating ok. Looking forward to here from you, thanks, Dan Wilson

I would investigate a fan that circulates the air from freezer to the rest of the refrig.

ALSO investigate the door seals. This is a very common problem. Slide a piece of paper around the door to insure there is no gaps in the seal. The hinge settings and door fitup are important.

My fridge is about 9 yrs. old, and I'm having problems keeping things cold all the time. It works fine for awhile and then it's like someone has unplugged it. The contents are not cold anymore, but after...

Multiple things can cause this. It could be the defrost timer is malfunctioning causing long defrost cycles. could be low on freon and freezing up causing a blockage of air flow thus a warmer than normal box. Compressor may have a start component issue where it is not coming on as designed or possibly overheating. a dirty condenser coil can also cause this issue. Good luck and hope this points you in a direction.

My Kenmore refrigerator's top freezer unit has stop working

Is there frost on the back wall of the freezer? All of the cold comes from the freezer. The refrigerator can not cool unless the freezer is working. Either the defrost is not working or the evaporator fan is not working.

Fridge not working properly on kenmore bottom freezer model 596.7

I have a similar problem, although I have no cooling in the fridge section. Had a repair man indicate that the electrical panal(pcb board) needs to be replaced. It is on order ($200). Sure hope that is the issue. To me, it appeared that the freezer fan(which cools the fridge) was not working. Whether that is the result of a faulty electrical panal is yet to be determined. Good luck!
