Did you bought the original lamp or compatible lamp or second hand /refurbished lamp. If its compatible lamp then,in some cases the compatible lamp does not support.If its second hand/refurbished lamp then in some cases,the second hand lamp bulb are actually used lamp,so this lamp has very few hours left in it.In that case if works for few hours,but when this few hours gets completed the bulb explodes.---------- Confirm if you are getting brand new original lamp from sony.Get original sony lamp.Keep updated with the details.Thanks.Helpmech.
Getting original lamp is much advisable.---------- Now why the bulb explode. Read this " When the bulb life come to end,at that time the indication comes on screen,that lamp replacement is needed.But still the same lamp can be used further for few more hors.As the hours gets less the second indication comes as lamp replacement is very much necessary.At this time lamp hours gets very less,so now lamp has to be replaced.If not not replaced the lamp gets exploded." So if the seller takes the lamp out when he gets first indication to replace the lamp,then it will works for few hours or may be few days then the bulb will explode.so in your case,most probably this has happened.When the lamp is original, it has full lamp hours and it last longer. I purchased lamp on E-bay, seller saying it is a new replacement lamp (Phillips bulb). Read all the reviews and customers gave good reviews. Is the only way is to buy from Sony?
