Frigidaire microwave FMV156DSB. Turntable don't turn and no heat. Clock, keypad, light and fan works. The guys above looks like they right about either the door or the switches for the latch. This model does have two switches and a fusible switch. Pushing up a bit on the oven door from the bottom right corner when its closed make mine turn on if you set it to cook. Switches numbered 8(x2) on the schematic has part number 5304440026 $18.05. Fusible switch has part number 5303319559 $30.36. Have'nt changed them because it may be the door hinge is bent since the door latch is made out of plastic. Also looks like a real pain to take apart just to get to the switches. I will try to bend the door hinge to see if it fixes it. "And..now." -- Kirk, "Huh?" -- Scotty, "The doors, Mr. Scott." --Kirk, "Aye. I'm workin' on 'em."

Door spring on build in microwave oven

Is this a combination built-in oven with microwave on top? And is this microwave one in which the door opens downward like a regular oven? If so, then this is a common problem for this oven/microwave combo, but replacing the spring is not a job for amatures. It takes a professional 45 minutes typically to do this job. It involves removing trim pieces, removing screws that hold the microwave oven in place, pulling the microwave out a couple of inches, and taking the door apart to get to the 2 torsion-bar springs. Replacing them is quite tricky, as is re-assembling the door. I recommend calling Sears Service (1-800-469-4663) to get a seasoned repairman to come out and fix your oven/microwave. Cost will probably be between $180 to $200.

When I open microwave oven door . close the door again light comes on an plate spins an wont stop unless I unplug it

Inside the door latch, is a safety feature, that prevents the microwave from operating unless the door is closed. This feature can easily become faulty, or even come with the fault already causing the microwave to constantly operate whenever the door is closed.

Microwaves can be very dangerous in regard to holding HEAPS of voltage within the unit. I recommend getting yourself a new microwave, as attempting repairs on any of the modern units can, more often than not, be far more costly then the price of a new one.

Hope this helps.

We have a Frigidaire FMV156DCC that is about 3+ years old. as of last night when the door is closed and the time is selected one of 3 things happen (or doesnt happen) 1. is nothing, just a dark...

I would replace the door switches and set up the door gap to 1/8" just enough to alow for a little play.
Setting the door square is acheived by slackening the lower door hinge and re tightening it when the door is square.
Hope that helps.

Faceplate of door by lower L/H hinge cracked. How do I remove the door to replace the Faceplate?

Front doors are attached inside the microwave at the top and bottom of the oven cavity. Top case has to come off using, likely, security torx screw drivers.
Remove the top hinge.
Remove the bottom hinge.
Door falls off.
Replace the front panel of the door.
Reinsert the lower hinge with the door, close and latch the door.
Holding the door firmly to the microwave, tighten the door hinge. Replace the top hinge.
(On some units, both hinges need to be installed at the same time. Use masking tape to hold the lower hinge - makes it easier.)

Need to dissemble microwave oven door GE model JVM 1631 BB 002 to remove spider.

Remove the inner strip around the door called the choke. If there are no screws visable it just snaps in place and does break if you are not very careful. This will give you access to the screws holding the outer frame piece and handle on. keep in mind, any repairs done to the door will necessitate a RFe leakage inspection. Boil some water on the front burners and cook the little guy and leave the door alone.

Loose door handle

DON'T remove the cover yourself unless you fully undertand the SAFETY issues involved in working inside a microwave oven. A microwave oven is possibly THE MOST DANGEROUS common consumer product to service. Usually with these doors, the latching parts tend to loosen up at times, thus requiring some re-adjustment and tightening. Sometimes they get a bit warn and require to be replaced. The handle by itself about $40, apparently GE doesn't know how to make a door handle that will hold up for more than a year or so. I just bought a new door off of eBay for $20 + $20 shipping ... a deal compared to the $135 + tax and shipping that most of the web sites want! All you need is a phillips screwdriver and a 5/16" socket. To get to 3 screws that anchor the TOP hinge, simply remove the vent grill (open the door and remove the 2 white screws that hold it in place). To get to the 2 screws that anchor the BOTTOM hinge, simply remove the 6 screws that hold the grey bottom pan of the microwave in place. The pan will swivel down, remaining attached in the back panel. Once you've removed the 5 hinge screws, the door should pull pretty much straight out. Reverse the procedure with the new door, which should come with hinges attached. Could be that the place the spring sits in is a little broken, so theres no stop for the spring. open it up and see if there's anything you can do with it, try some epoxy putty maybe. Good luck
