Hi, I have two reasons in mind why this might be;
1: The media volume on the phone may not be turned up all the way, check the Media volume and not just the ringer volume.
2: The speakers on the phone itself may not be designed to be very loud when it comes to playing music, the varying frequency ranges are difficult to pump out at loud volumes with such small speakers. Developers of the phone may have just anticipated users of the music player would always listen with headphones.
If you want a phone to play loudly without having headphones in, specify such a desire to a sales rep in a store so they can suggest the phone that meets the needs that are most important to you.
Good Luck hope this helps

What is the problem with loud noise when it comes to ears? Can it really do damage or is that just a story made up by people who hate loud music?

It’s actually been medically proven that prolonged
exposure to loud music and loud sounds can damage hearing in the long run.
Obviously trauma to the ear from something like an explosion can cause
immediate hearing loss, but music etc is more likely to cause a slow
deterioration.

It’s highly recommended to use ear protection when
engaging in very loud level activities such as mowing the lawn.
A study has also shown that listening to music while
exercising can cause further damage to hearing as the blood flow during
exercise is diverted from our ears to our arms, legs and heart – making the
ears more vulnerable to noise.

Hi i have rexently noticed that my phone no longer sends sound to the ear phone jack with the exception of voice calls i have switched the phone off and on but no change. What should i try next thanks

There is different sound setting for voice call and media playback.
If you press volume up key on home screen, it increase the phone call volume but not he music player volume.

You can try to increase sound of media playback. First, open music player or video player and increase the volume through volume up key. You will see media volume written on the Volume increase pop up notification.
If you still have problem, reply.

The volume on my sony nwz~e453 is too low

Go to your menu, go to settings, then common settings, then look for AVLS, this is ( Volume Limit) turn it off. Then you can go to music settings and equalizer then go to custom and set the sliders as far up as they will go. Save that an use it. Now your ear buds have a lot to do with how loud your music sounds, the better the ear phones the louder the music sounds. Hope this helps Fix Ya up.

My BB Bold remains in the headphones plug in mode even after I my handsfree ear piece has been ejected from the socket. I cannot hear or talk to other party unless I put the ear piece back in the socket...

Press the BlackBerry button when you're in the music player.
Go to Activate handset.
That should allow you to play your music from the BlackBerry's speakers.

When making or answering a call i cannot hear anything unless i switch to speaker others can hear me ok

Hi, the problem you are having is going to be down to one of 2 problems, now the first could be the phone just needs resetting as the settings may be wrong to do this switch it off and take the battery out, leave it out for about 15 min then put it back in and switch the phone on and give it a try.

if after doing the above it still dont work then the chance point to it being the speaker at fault that goes by your ear, their is 2 speakers in the phone one that you put your ear by and a bigger one that is used when you play music now if it works on loud speaker and you can play music then you know that the loud speaker is working so this then tells us the ear piece speaker has stopped working, now this could have happened if the phone was dropper or if any liquid has got in or if its been somewhere damp. now one thing to try would be take the battery out and then hold the phone it 1 hand then hit it into the palm of the other hand doing this may shock it and get it working again it usually starts working again like this if its liquid problem, now if it dont work still then this suggest the speaker has got hot and failed, this can be repaired at most phone repair shops, its not something you can do yourself as it may require so solder work doing to connect it with the circuit board.

it wont cost much to do as this is a common problem so if the phone is not a cheap one then i would say take it in for repair.

let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

please could you rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks
