The Color On My Mitsubishi Rear Projection Tv model- WS-55908 looks to be off, picture looks blue and Yellow.

the problem is on the cables , look on the back of the cable box , if it is hd box the on ly thing you need to do is put the cables base on there colors green with green , red and blue , the other 2 are for video , but if it is normal box just put the yellow color with yelow on your box to your tv and the other to are audio

Televisions covered: all Projection with yellow picture, but not Projection TVs with a yellowish tint surrounding objects in a nearly normal picture.

Yellow = red + green

The circuitry powering your blue output, or the blue light engine itself is starting to fail.

Operating Theory:

The lamp module shines a bright light into the optical unit; there are a series of lens and baffles, and at the top of the light engine, a lens puts the picture into a mirror which is reflected onto the screen; All video and color is processed thru the light engine. Blue most commonly fails first, leaving a yellow picture.

You're unit has three color gun inside, the red/blue/green gun, since you haven't a green color, green gun is dead. This is caused by faulty resistor, tube, transistor, bad solder joints. If you have necessary tools and test instrument look first for bad solder joints in the neck board, re-solder all cold/dry joints, unplug then re-insert all cable connected. Test the parts in that board and also the tube.
If you can't do the job yourself I would advice you to look for a technician to isolate the problem.

This is a high voltage problem, but first try turning up the screen voltage located on the focus block. This requires opening the back of the TV, be careful of dangerous high voltage. See if there's a picture after turning up the red, green, blue, voltage adjustments, if not then vertical sweep, Flyback, or convergence need servicing. The tv have a problems known as a convergence problems,it dead.The tv convergence board have 2 dead STK convergence ICS and some or all it resistors are dead.These parts,must be replaced on the tv convergence board to solved the tv picture convergence problems.The shop,will cost u $300-350 for parts and labors.

This is a model first made in 2001--when it does it go into the customer menu and select CONVERGENCE--what you are looking for is is red or blue skewed and will not adjust?

no your optic block is going south u need a new light engine big bucks

sounds like a convergence failure. Is it possible to post a picture? If not does the image appear as if its 3D?

the main power supply has gone out it may not be worth the 4to5 hundred to repair it

call tech and suggest to balance your screens ..they will know the procedure.
