Glowplug relay 180; located in Position 10 in the relay panel. If you unplug the coolant temp sensor, you can trick the computer into thinking it's really cold out, and it will run the glow plugs.

The wire that runs to the glo-plugs comes from the relay and as it is a heavy gauge wire (colour coded ) try tracing it back to a relay. IT may be completely separate to all the others.
With most relays, you have 4 wires. One is power to the component the relay controls, one is a ground to the relay magnet, one is power to the magnet, and the fourth goes to the component, in this case the glow plugs. The ground usually comes from the computer. With the key on you should have power to two terminals and you would jumper the hot terminal to the glow plug terminal. Or use a test light or meter to check for power on the glow plug circuit.
Your diesel vehicle is equipped with glow plugs, and also with a Glow Plug Light that will either come on and stay on, or flash or blink when a fault is detected by the ECU (engine management unit). Hello kbmind, A number of different glow plug systems were used on the Landcruiser, depending where it was made and what country it was shipped to. However, they all serve the same purpose on a diesel injection. To preheat the combustion chambers. If your light is on when you deaccelerate the control module thinks the cylinder is cooling down & fires up the glow plug. This usually indicates the glow plug relay is weak and/or the glow plugs themself are worn. Depending on your mileage, i would say it's the relay. The glow plugs can be tested with an ohm meter to determine if they need to be replaced. I hope this helps.
