Are you talking about the oven temperature control? When turned on to the selected temperature the oven indicator will light and the element will work. When the oven reaches the desired temperature the power will shut off to the element and the indicator light will go out. When the oven cools slightly the indicator light and the element will again turn on. When it does turn off and you turn the knob slightly to increase the temperature the indicator light and element will come on again as you are asking it to heat to a higher temperature. This is normal oven operation.

GE Stove tope range not working

If the phenomenon is intermittent, and you get it going and coming as you restart the oven, then it is likely a bad wiring or a bad connection.
Ensure first that the circuit breaker is ok and well in place, then proceed testing wirings.
Check connectors to buners, hobs, and controls panel.
If all wirings and connections are OK, the what reamins is a faulty control panel or a fault on some of the knob controls.

The stove preheat light is on and the oven does.nt cook fast

Hello Theresa Thomas - Try resetting the unit by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and turn the range back on. Select a normal bake cycle and if issue continues then the unit may possibly have either a faulty element, bad communication error with the EOC, oven sensor, or mechanical thermostat. I strongly suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately. They also usually warranty their labor just in case something else may turn out to be the root cause of your initial problem and it does work out better to your advantage. .

Hello there. I have a Kenmore Electric Range Series 94931. We bought a house, and the stove came with it. We have a problem with the oven latch. Not sure if it was already broken before my wife first...

This is the self cleaning lock latch. I inherited the same stove the same way - came with the little 100-year-old cottage we just bought. Fortunately the owners manual was in the bottom warmer drawer. Here is what it says on one of the back pages, talking about the self-cleaning feature: “If the door latch finger should become positioned so as to prevent the oven door from closing completely, this condition can be corrected as follows: a. Make sure oven is cool. b. Open oven door, turn Oven Selector switch to CLEAN, push in oven door light switch button (switch is located at right top oven door opening) and hold button in for approximately 15 seconds. c. Next, turn Oven Selector to OFF and again push in the oven door switch for approximately 15 seconds. The latch finger, being motor driven, will rotate so the oven door may be properly closed.”

Jenn-Air stove locked

After the lock indicator light goes out, move the door lock lever to the left. The oven door can now be opened. Turn the selector and temperature knobs from clean to off AFTER THE DOOR IS UNLOCKED. If the temperature knob is turned to off BEFORE the door is unlocked, the door will not open. Forcing the lock will damage the lock mechanism. If this should happen, return the temperature knob back to CLEAN, unlock the door, THEN turn the temperature knob off.
