Irritation I have had an Astra Meridian 9417 Corded Phone for one year. When it was new, it irritated me in the sense that my eyes and throat would burn and itch during an extended phone conversation. I have been away from my office for 4 months and had forgotten about this problem. But, upon using the phone today, I am reminded of the irritation. Is this common? Is there something I can do about it? Thanks, Bob

Sounds Like the LCD Display unit is Faulty.

There are people that doe suffer from the magnetic presences and the waves being emitted from certain cell phones. The only thing you could try would be a bluetooth headset or a wired headset with a boom mic if your phone has that type of jack. The other thing to consider is that the type of screen and lcd type could be giving you these symptoms due to looking at the type of screen and small fonts on that particular phone. Good luck.

There were some problems where people used glas-fiber-islations as a filter (it could be yellow or white), the problem generated because air filters and isolations camed in more or less same packageing (people didn't know, or couldn't know the diference) if u rub the new filter and it starts hurting or burning finger's you have isolation, if not there could be a problem with chemicals that where in filter fiber's, you can leave it on sun for a few hour's and bring it back in

Sir, the problem with the phone is its sidetones. It is broken. Usually, you have to take this phone to a technician to fix this but it will never be the same as before. So i suggest that you buy a new phone.

your phone is not dying. Once you pick up a phone press 9. This will automatically grab a line. Dial your number.

Contact your phone company to make sure the stutter tone and/or feature for Voice mail notification is on. I too had the same problem many years ago with AT&T (Then SBC) to correct this.

Slide the Nortel Grey Bar above the Hold & Rls buttons to reveal the setup button.

1. Hit that button to show *Options List / # Setup list
2. Press * to go into options.
3. Use the arrow buttons or hit 3 to go into CLEAR MESSAGE WAITING
4. Then hit 3 again to clear the message waiting

This should resolve the blinking light.
