If its original, the registration number usually written in the box. If its packed in CD or folder, it usually have the number in certain file (usually in .txt form). Please check those option.

Contact support and request a new activation code, you can not use the older one, because is already used, ask to resend a new activation code. Hope this help.

If you bought it online ,you could request the code again ,but each CD has a unique code.
I'm afraid you will have to buy another one or ask a friend who has the expansion pack to lend it to you.
Actually you need to have bought the original "The Sims" game, this being because the game's code looks for a registration to determine whether or not you bought it... Of course you can illegally get the real game, but that is highly unappreciated. Find a "The Sims" game in an exchange shop or on eBay for really cheap, and that should be the start point you're actually looking for.
