Air leaking back from tank check valve or leaking reed valves can make a squeaking or vibrating noise. With pressure in tank remove fitting at the tank check valve and test for leak with soapy water. If leaking, replace with generic valve. If no leak, reinstall fitting and let all the air out of the tank. With empty tank and air filter removed, start compressor and feel strength of suction at intake. When you hear the squeak retest strength of suction at intake and compare. If reed valves are leaking, you will feel less suction as tank pressure increases, and in severe leaking valves, you will actually feel air blowing out of intake. Repair/replace reeds and /or leaking gaskets in head of compressor. Good luck

Why does my mazda 6 squeaks in hot weather

The usual reason is the belt that drives the A/C compressor is loose. Sometimes the issue is a tensioner pulley bearing is worn out. May also be the belt that drives the alternator. When the extra load of the compressor or the current to drive the A/C fans engages, the belt will slip and squeak. Adjust or replace the belt(s).

When i turn on my car i hear squeaking sound

Belts? Mice? Hallucination? ALL DEPENDS ON WHERE THE "SQUEAKING" IS COMING FROM.

Open the hood. If the squeaking is coming from the area of the serpentine belt, it is probably time to replace your belt. Also, check all fluid levels.
If the squeaking is coming from a particular pulley (such as the air conditioning compressor or the power steering hydraulic pump), there may be a problem with whatever the pulley is attached to.
If the squeaking appears to be coming from outside of the car, you are scaring the mice or hallucinating.

I drove my 97 blazer yesterday and ran the a/c. It did not run cold but was cool. After getting back from my 4 hour drive, I went home and let it sit for a couple hours. When I went back out to start...

Probably the compressor causing the belt to squeak. Try spraying just a squirt of wd40 on the drive side of the belt. It the noise goes away, its the belt. If not, its the compressor drive.

Squeaking noise from tread

usually when a treadmill begins to make a squeaking sound it means that the belt needs to be lubricated. Try Treadmill Belt Lubricant available at Canadian Tire for $10.99 and is good for Reebok treadmills.

My 2003 Subaru Forester AC compressor squeaks at startup, then stops squeaking. Is my AC Compressor failing?

Not likely. The belt may be old and stretched. A small adjustment to the tensioner or replacing the belt should help.

Belt squeaks when AC turns on

Your belt is not tight enough. Are you using the power steering pump to adjust? (right way) or doing something else? Keep tension on the pump and tighten the pivot bolt first.

Squeaking belt

If the belts are good the noise could just be the a/c compressor making noise. The compressor is the only thing that is not normally spinning until the a/c is activated and the a/c is activated by the defrost to dry the air. Cheapest thing to test is the belt I would replace the belt and if it is not the belt you can try the compressor. If it is the compressor then you have a extra belt to put on later.

A/C on 1988 Mercedes 190E fan squeaks and does not function

Assuming your compressor tries to turn but squeaks due to the lack of tension on your belt. Belt maybe stretched to far for the tensioner to keep it tensioned. If so, replace belt ('88 model should be single belt if multi belts adjust tensioner). If belt slips because A/C compressor doesnt want to turn when clutched in, that should mean A/C compressor seized and needs replacing.
