It will not stay running. I have a pb 250 purchased from Home Depot. I've never owned a piece of equipment this difficult to use and I have been in the landscape construction business for 31 years.

You've been running the unit with the wrong oil to gas ratio and now the unit runs rich - there is no real way to fix it at this point - you can adjust the carb but it will not probably hold the idle you desire - but then again blowers are to be ran wide open 85% of the time so don't sweat it too much on this unit but practice better maintenance and a proper mix ratio in the future.
I bought mine at Home Depot, the pump failed after about 8 hours of use then Home Depot agreed to replace it now it failed again after aabout 10 hours of use. This is a piece of crap and Home Depot should be ashamed for selling this junk. I am sure they are in with Husky and making big dollars on a crappy product. My machine is like brand new just will not work. Now the carb has to be replaced only after less than 20 hours.
Your bike is not equipped with a "choke" per se. It is equipped with an "enricher" circuit. Although both systems are meant to provide a rich mixture with which to start a cold engine, they do this it completely different fashions. If you were to ride the bike with a "choke" partially on, it would run very rich. But, once you crack the throttle plate open on an "enricher" equipped carburetor, the enricher is rendered inoperative. An enricher only works when the throttle is fully closed.
If you're running rich and fuel is splattering down the right side of the bike, you've got other problems in the carb. I would suspect that your needle and seat is not sealing like it should for one reason or the other. If the bike sat up for a while, it could have some residue on the needle and seat left from the gasoline evaporating or something. I'd go purchase a can of carb and injector cleaner and pour some in the fuel tank. Do not allow any of this to get on your paint. Try that for a tank full if you can. If that doesn't work, the carb needs to be taken off, stripped down, and thoroughly cleaned inside. Maybe install a new needle valve. The seat is not replaceable in the original carburetor.
Clean your carb and give it fresh fuel. Thats if you are getting spark. Can you give me a note so I can give it to my teacher so I can get back into school.
sounds like its not getting gas in the carberator yet. even though its new i would take off the air breather and pour a small amount of gas in airtake. this might get it started enough to prime the carberator and draw the gas on its own.
Well funny enough i'm actually the tool technician at a local home depot here in Pennsylvania and the issue seems like a simple oil with love. I prefer PB Blaster to WD40 for some applications, if rust is your issue that is. If it continues to give you a hard time the bolts/screws that hold the guide to the saw and lube them as well. Once you get things moving around again it should be fine. Then it's just maintenance!
