Well this is a tough one, you'll have to do a zero-fill procedure to the HDD, I recommend you to download this software, install it then run it from the start menu, be careful to choose the right HDD, you'll easily know which one is it by comparing name and model of your WB HDD in the software with the name and model of your external HDD, click on continue and click on the 'low level format' tab, wait until the HDD is completely formatted, then you can reformat your HDD using the command mmc in menu > start > run this will open the microsoft management console, which will allow you to choose the HDD with no partition, right click on the HDD and click on format, choose your formatting options or leave it as is if you don't know what you're doing, anc click on accept, wait for the formating tool to finish and you're done, you'll be able to see your hdd again, the only thing is you'll loose all the data in it... have a nice day

Since you said you are unable to access it from any of your computers might external HD might have crashed. The only advice I can give you in this case is to remove any power to the device, then plug in the USB first then the power, see if the computer detects it. If not reboot the computer and test

hope this helps

The blue light keeps flashing on and off on my Seagate 4Tb XHD. It won't show up on the finder as connected. What causes that?

follow these steps:
  1. Make sure the computer and external hard drive are powered on.
  2. Safely remove the drive from the computer (if possible).
  3. Disconnect the external drive's USB or FireWire cable.
  4. Disconnect the power supply plug from the external drive.
  5. Power off the computer.
  6. Disconnect the computer's power supply cord for 60 seconds.
  7. Reconnect the computer.
  8. Power on the computer.
  9. Connect the power supply to the external drive.
  10. Connect the drive's USB or FireWire cable and check for detection.
If that does not correct the behavior, and if the drive is also not detected by your computer, the blinking light is probably a symptom of a larger problem. If those steps do not return the drive to correct function, it is very possible, even probable, that the drive has failed and needs to be replaced

WB 1TB blu light flashes but wont startup

The my book world has 3 different kinds of flashes.

1. Fast flashing (every 3 seconds) - Which means it's going into standby mode.

2. Slow flashing (every 5 seconds) - Which means it's in standby mode.

3. Alternative flashing between inner and outer ring - Means RAID failure (this only applies if you have the RAID compatible version [dual drive my book world])

4. Simultaneous flashing - Means the drive is overheating and the drive needs to be shut down.

Try resetting the drive, using the link below for guidance (this will not effect your data). If the drive does power-up, you will need to change the IP to static, if you had it that way before and you will need to login with the following login details: Username: admin | Password: 123456

My webcam doesnt work properly after i remaked my computer and i dont know where my installation cd is... its a blue light on it all the time its an Webcam WB-1400T? Can i download the software for free...

about 180 mins or an hour and a half. if the light does not change, just make sure you put it properly on the charger base and time it for charging. Disconnect it after you are done. Usually, the light on the charger is just an indication that it is powered on.

Accidently flicked the slide switch

Make sure it is unplugged. Take out the battery. Hold in the power button for up to 1 minute. Put the battery back in. Turn it on.

Light doesn't turn blue at all

Plug it into another computer if possible, clear ALL files on it.
You must of been sending something to it when you flicked the switch, they would normally go off straight away.

(Backup on the other computer first)

If this does not work then you may want to see if you can see a usb stick in your USB ports. If you can it's a fault with the harddrive, nothing else you can do.

Canon 20D strong blue cast to pictures

You probably have the White Balance set to a setting other a
than "Auto White Balance" (AWB). On the top of the camera, above the exterior LCD panel, there is the "AF-WB" button. Turn the camera on--past "on" to the bent line. Press the AF-WB button once. On the left side of the exterior LCD panel there is a vertical, reticular box with the symbol of the selected setting for WB. Normally, the setting should be set to AWB. If it is not, turn the command dial at the back of the camera until "AWB" is showing. Try shooting again-the color should be better.

In the "auto" modes (green box, portrait, landscape, etc) the AWB is automatically set. In the "advanced" modes (P,Tv, etc) the WB is manually set for whatever light source you are using. The command dial may have been accidently turned to different setting. Hope this helps.
