When I start the machine on Normal setting, it stops and flashes "F1" and beeps. what does this mean?

EOC is the Electronic Oven Control. if you have major sparks I would call a service tech because there is an underlying cause that needs a trained eye to be sure it is safe for you to use.

The F1 error code means a button on the touchpad is stuck,usually pushing clear/off will clear it. Since you have done that and it returns the touchpad needs to be replaced

The "F1" error code on the Whirlpool cabrio is quite common, and generally has to do with the control board. Replacing the control panel may resolve this issue. YES! Serious problem...more annoying than anything else. Wait until your machine stops at the spin cycle and displays "F1" again. We just had a repair tech out today and received a quote of $384+ to fix/replace the circuit board. Kenmore & Sears are fully aware of this problem and have issued a recall on a model that is one digit off of the model I have yet they will not do anything about this even though it is the same problem. These machines are huge dogs!

F1 usually means a communication or an electrical error.

Unpgug the machine for 1 minute and then power back up. If fault reoccurrs check all connectors.

pull open the storage drawer and you will find a sticker down low on one side.

Mean while you may try unplugging the range for 5 minutes and that should reset the system if it is only a glitch!

I think f1 is a problem with the oven control board. Look on the back of the oven for a tech sheet and it will tell you what the codes mean and what to check.
