Hi, I have a sony wega KD 34xS955 tv. It had a 10 blink problem. It was the power supply. Its fixed, but need to know how to reset the blinks code. Can you help?

Seven blinks - High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. Check power supply regulation and horizontal circuits.
As you can see here, seven blinks of standby light is due to some over voltate at the final anode of the picture tube. This is a protection process that going on insde the tV circuits, to prevent more damage to other comnponents on board. The most common cause for this is with the main power regulator out voltage itself. If any way, it ahs exceeded 135VDC, this kind of fault will occur. Check the main power regulator section circuit for any damaged component/s. Replace all the small electrolytic capacitors there. Visit the site named 'Electro-help' for more details. 6 blinks its the clear indication that you have bad power supply board..


That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..

Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..

1. Open the back cover of your TV.
2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..
3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..
4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..
5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter

The red flashes then get off, usually because there is problem with IC's on its D board ( power supply board) . There are two IC's there and need to replace one or both of them. Since quite hard to do IC's test, I suggest you to replace both of them.

do you have the 13 volts can you see with the oscilloscope the input Driver pulses are they there

If you see standby red light blinking on Tv front with 3 seconds interval then count its blinks from pause to pause and let me know, its an error code.
And if TV does not even show standby light then check fuse in power supply that would be blew off for some reason, replace it.

It is likely the power supply may have faulty capacitors inside which is quite common.

If you have sound but no picture it means that your power supply and tuner are working correctly. The number of times the timer LED blinks is the code for the problem with the picture. The computer will stop the picture and blink the timer LED if the vertical circuit stops working, if the picture tube is too weak or if the horizontal sweep has stopped. The set should be serviced by a qualified tech familiar with Sony sets.
