My MFC-9320CW is showing it is offline. I can't find how to get it back online. All the configurations are correct, and my other partners are printing fom the computer just fine. It ewven printed fine on my computer until a few days ago, then just stopped working.

What is it scaner or paper problem?

If it is a paper problem take out all of the paper and return few pages in the tray. Try and print out something.

But I still thing that you will have trouble.

If the things I tell you don\'t wotk you may have to change a spear part like drum unit or a toner cartridge.

Sometimes if the drum unit is at it\'s life end you may experiance this problem.

Try cleaning the corona wire on each toner cartridge. This may help solve your solution.
If this does not help try another thing.
Try and replace the toner cartridge. Maybe your toner cartridge needs to be replaced. Usualy when printed images are light or pale a toner cartridge replacement is recommended.

Hi,Check to see in the connectioncables are all plugged in correctly.Open the printer and see if drumunit and toner cartridges are installed correctly. Sometimes not well installedconsumables are the cause of that particular problem.See if the print driver on yourcomputer is correctly installed. Try and reinstall the driver.Check if your printer is working in onlinemode. Sometimes printer changes online to offline method. If printer is atoffline mode click Start button on your computer, enter Control Panel. Click onHardware and Sound and choose Printers. Right click on Brother MFC-9840CWD andmake sure that the Use Printer offline is not checked.Hope this helps.

Hi Nicolas, please becarefull when using service mode it is really not a place anyone should be playing in as you have found out it can render machines useless.. So enter service mode by pressing menu * 2 8 6 4 very fast... machine should display maintence.. then once you see maintence press 7 and then 4, the present code is then displayed (your wrong code is probally 0001 usa, or 1004 denmark/netherland), .. Now enter in correct code for a mfc9320CW in Netherlands its 0209, or 0201 for USA, or 0213 denmark, I gave you a few because I dont know what country you are in..then press ok, the machine will save the setting and displays parameter init, the machine should then beep and return to maintence mode, to exit mainence key in 99. Let me know how you go or if I guess wrong your country

Go to system settings and select the 'Printer' option.

Right-click on the printer and enable the 'Use Printer Online' function.

Cancel all the printing jobs till that moment and redo the process.

Sometimes the 'Printer Offline' message occurs due to a 'Job Stuck' issue.

Check all network connections and functions.

Be sure the network interfaces work properly.

Turn the printer off and on to see whether the device is working properly.

I have this problem also with my Brother MFC-490CW printer. I find that I have to shut the printer off, then turn it back on to re-establish a connection.

If you want to make it online, than make sure it is on and connected to your computer, Once you are sure about this than

Go to control panel than Printers and Faxes

There You need to right click on printer and than Use printer online

IT will Put you printer back online.

For my MFC, my PC says its ready and working properly. It really only works when I'm not connected to my cable modem. All PCs use it then. It's offline otherwise.
