SOURCE: I need to know how to adjust the bobbin tension on

There is a tiny screw on the side of the bobbin case.

Mark the **** (in the screw head) position on the bobbin case with tiny dab of nail polish so you will know where the original setting was.

Left/loose and right/tight.

If you are adjusting because the bottom stitching is loose/loopy, first try threading the machine with the presser foot up to see if this solves the problem.

The lower thread on this machine continues to bunch up, no matter what we try.

Please check whether it is the bobbin thread or the top thread that is messing up. If it's under the fabric, it is 99% the top thread and is called bird nesting or thread nesting.

Remove the top thread from the machine.
ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning.
Verify the thread path is correct.
Also check that the bobbin is loaded and turning the correct direction in the bobbin case.
Now, retest the machine.

You may need to tweak the tension to get it where it looks best.

The top thread won't pull the bobbin thread up. It's threaded properly and the bobbin is in properly. It's an euro pro 464xc also.

If you have installed a brand new needle and are still having issues, then it is likely that the needle/hook timing is off, ie the needle arrives at the incorrect time/place to intercept the thread.

There are multiple web sites & videos explaining sewing machine timing if you wish to try to resolve the issue yourself. Otherwise, take it for service.

Install bobbin in euro-pro X 464XC

Either your machine was not threaded with the presser foot wasn't up when you threaded the upper thread... or your upper tension isn't tight enough.

Good luck.

Lower bobbin looping

The top thread is loose and the bobbin thread is pulling the top thread down

Always thread the machine with the presser foot up and see if this eliminates the problem.

Sounds opposite of the problem, but it is very important to do this to assure the tension control can keep the top thread at the correct tension to form a proper stitch.

If the machine is threaded with the presser foot down, the tension control is closed and the thread cannot seat into the control as it should.

My europro 464xc sewing machine sews fine with normal thread. Once I switch to thread for outdoor fabric the underneath side of the fabric looks like a rats nest. I have gone through one spool of thread...

Home use machines have a very difficult time with heavier thread, you are OK with size 50 and the larger size 40, but not with anything thicker. You can maybe get away with your thread by turning the upper tension higher, try it with the tension at 7 or 8 or 9, it "may" give you better results.

Just a note of warning, that thread may jam the machine and break your gears or your bobbin case.
