If the microwave oven is 10 years old then it is time to consider a new unit, by your description it is going into cascade failure where different parts have stopped working, the buzzing sound is the magnetron warning you, it is about to fail. The fans job is to keep the magnetron cool while it is running.

Bosch microwave oven, turntable not working, food not heated

Even if the turntable isn't turning, the oven should still heat the food but it will be uneven cooking. I would suggest that the unit is not "microwaving" This is usually the high voltage capacitor, fuse or diode failure. You will need knowledge of how microwave ovens work and specialist tools to test these. If you don't, I would suggest you get a tech who does. There are extremely high voltages in microwave ovens.

Food is not heating, can u help me?

If the only problem is that the food does not heat up, but the rest of the oven works, like the light, turntable, display and keypad, then the problem is with the magnetron circuit. It the circuit that generates the microwaves that heat the food. It can be expensive to fix since the replacement magnetron can cost as much as a new oven, so it rarely worth fixing. The symptom of a shorted magnetron is a loud buzzing sound when you try to run the oven.

My GE Microwave, model # JE1640WA001, stopped microwaving. The timer works and the light inside the microwave turns on, but now the turntable and the fan do not work. Sounds like a relay is kicking in as...

Is the unit heating the food? If not you may have a fubar magnetron tube. But it is fused so you might want to check the internal fuse to make sure it is not open.

Microwave runs, turntable turns, fan runs, but does not heat,

No heat means the magnetron circuit has failed. It is the part that generates the microwaves to heat the food. Usually not worth fixing since the magnetron costs nearly as much as a new oven. To diagnose, if the oven is on, you will hear a loud buzzing sound if the magnetron is shorted.

Are there any recalls on GE microwave JVM1540DN1ww Thanks, [email protected]

There are no recalls on GE over the range microwave JVM1540DN1WW but there SHOULD BE! Mine lasted only a year and a half and then started running and heating with the door open. Shortly after that it stopped heating at all. The light and fan works, and the keyboard lights up but the turntable doesn't turn anymore (yes I made sure the turntable was turned on), and it doesn't heat. It will count down like it's heating but it doesn't heat. Changing the door switches didn't work. Husband thinks it is the magnetron which is expensive to fix. I won't ever buy another GE microwave period! Check the web and you will see all the similar complaints. I just searched online and for a lesser price than I paid for the GE, Samsung sells one that has the one year warranty but also has a 10 year warranty on the magnetron.

My GE spacemaker oven will no longer heat the food. can I replace the heating thing?

Yes, GE Customer Service is here, and they can tell you what model would be a "drop-in" replacement for your model.

If you or someone you know would rather fix yours, which can often be done pretty easily, (on some models the magnetrons have 10 year warranties) please post a NEW FixYa inquiry that includes your full model number from the tag in or on the unit, and the answer to these questions:

- When you try to microwave, do the inside light, internal cooling fan, and the turntable all come on?

- Is it louder or quieter than usual?

- Is it making any odd noises?

(We have a sound clip of what a microwave should sound like when the cooling fan and high voltage section are working.)

Otherwise, if this takes care of you...

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Can't heat food

So we can help you, please post a NEW question, and please include your brand name and the full model number from the tag in or on the unit, as well as the answers to these questions:

When you try to microwave are the inside light, internal cooling fan and turntable all working?

Is there any unusual noise or is it louder or quieter than normal?

A loud buzz, hum, or groan is usually a shorted high voltage rectifier diode, but a sound like gurgling into an empty coffee mug is one symptom of a failed magnetron, and yet the mag can be bad without that sound.

We have a sound clip of what a microwave should sound like when the cooling fan and high voltage section are working.

Microwave does not heat/cook

hi

power spikes are very damaging to a microwaves internal parts, it sounds like your transformer and/or magnetron are blown. if the unit is out of warranty I would recommend calling a repairman or getting a new microwave (the transformer & magnetron are expensive and dangerous to work on) also get a small single plug surge protector for the new one.
