How to Clean the pipes

I have a Canon Pixma IP4300. I've had a problems with the cyan not printing well...hardly at all infact. I went back to the cartridge dealer (for the third time), thinking it was their product.

He suggested to me that it could be the pipes, and that going through the cleaning cycle, won't help.

If this is the case, how do I clean the pipes?

You have to open the printer and find the pipe which will be below the cartridge resting place

My canon pixma iP4300 wont print cyan, I have perfoermed deep head cleaning, replaced cartrdges 6 times and still same problem

Unfortunately the problem is in the printhead situated just under where the ink cartridges go. It can be removed by removing ink cartridges and lifting it out from the top. You could try cleaning it or dispersing it in a mil of hot water for 1 minute while holding it. Then dry it, reinstall it and run deep clean again. Unfortunately this does not work very often but you could get lucky.
If not then only alternative is to buy another printhead and they cost more than the printer is worth.

Yellow color light keeps going off

Yeah its a pain in the rear - only solution I have found is bite the bullet and replace the ink tank. They have have a chip and if the chip goes bad you are screwed. Mine likes to go out on the cyan tank. Great product Canon.

IP4300 only recognizes magenta OR cyan

1. Get compressed air
2. Run Printhead under HOT water, do not worry about contacts getting slightly wet.

3. Blow compressed air with straw attachment into screens where the cartridge nozzle sits on printhead. then let it sit and dry.

4. reinstall print test page

5. if this fails open paint/photoshop and print a page of the color that is not printing correctly. rinse and repeat until colors flow freely.

I have several ip4300s and I have yet to give up the ghost on a printer with a clog ujsing this method.
