My Amana Dryer stopped working. I checked the wires coming into the dryer and their fine. The light inside comes on, but when I push the on button, it doesn't do anything. Any suggestions?

Did you have a problem restarting the dryer after each use? It could be a bad motor or open contact in the timer.I would also check the wiring harness and the plug going to the motor. Hope this helps
What you describe is either a failed evenheat board or a failed motor relay.
Please post the complete model number from the machine and I can help you narrow it down. There should be a wiring diagram inside the console with voltage checks also.

Always check the breakers in your electrical breaker box in house first. I say this because it takes 2 for dryers one for coils and lights the other for motor and thermostats. Next check door switch by listening for contact click sound when you push the door closed if you hear it switch is good and most likely motor is bad.
Sounds like the motor relay is not functioning. Sometimes the motor will work if the button is pushed but will stop when the button is released. This is caused by a loose wire at the motor or a bad motor relay.
