DVR is meant to be used as playback device it's recorded information is stored in an encrypted form in the device. Even if the data is retrieved it might not be playable in another device.
turn off your cable box turn off the dvr disconnect cable box from wall outlet disconnect dvr from wall outlet unplug e-sata cable from dvr replug e-sata cable back in to dvr plug dvr into wall outlet turn on dvr plug in cable box to wall outlet turn on cable box wait for cable box to go completely thru startup procedure ...then try your list button again.

In the input assignment menu make sure that the DTV (the only 1080 input on this tv) is set to Y/Pb/Pr and see if that fixes your issue with at least the HD-DVR.
BTW- the HDMI information "1080i HD can only be selected if TV has HDMI inputs". is not correct.
COMP 1 and 2 are for 480i/p sources. Hook it to the 1080i capable on the back. Also make sure the HD DVR is outputting 1080i not 720p. The Mits can not disply 720p and will show a scrambled screen if you try to.
