Hello my washing machine works fine but when it gets to the spin part of the cycle it does not spin fast like it should do, the pump keeps pumping water out and the programme carries on, the clothes do spin round but really slowly and the pump still is going and the programme then ends and the clothes are soaking wet. For some reason it does not spin fast and it worked fine until today. .Any ideas what it could be please? Thanks

Hi, it means that the machine is not spinning fast enough and pumping the water away. If its not spinning enough then you have to get the machine looked at as its not clicking on in the cycle for it to spin fast enough. You also have to have it set to wash cycle that has a fast spin. If it is spinning fast then you have to look at the pump to make sure its pumping the water away.
does it pump out all the water when it spins the first time? when they spin slow sometimes the pump is not pumping out all the water causing it to spin slow.
ITS POSSABLE ITS NOT PUMPING FAST ENOUGH. CHECK THE DRAIN HOSE AND MAKE SURE IT HAS NO KINK. IF THATS OK IT MAY HAVE A BUILDUP OF SOAP. RUN A EMPTY CYCLE WITH NO SOAP. IF THAT DONT WORK YOU NEED A REPIARMAN TO CLEAN OR REPLACE THE PUMP.
when on spin check to see if you can hear a low whirring noise {the pump} if the machine is not pumping or not pumping fast enough for sufficient water to drain out of the machine then the machine will not spin due to having to much water in. i would also check to see if all filters on the waste water output are clear of any foreign bodies as this will reduce the speed of which the water is pumped out of the machine{some machines have 2 filters } good luck
sounds like your transmission is not working properly. check your warranty information. (should be in your owners manual) many of the whirlpool made top loaders came with a 5 year warranty on the transmission/gear case
check no foreign object stuck in pump impellor and that it turns freely. if that is ok then check continuity thro drain pump. if no muiltimeter, try connecting drain pump to mains direct to see it works
