Reset Your Player

To reset your player, use a thin pointed object such as a paper clip to press the reset hole on the back or bottom of your device. If your player is malfunctioning while connected to the PC, reset the player while it's connected.

Music downloaded won't play. It keeps saying the audio player does not support file modified / deleted.

The downloads are in a different format than the reader can understand. If there is a missing driver or interpreter the file cannot play. You may trying to use a Converter program to change the values.

Synced music files won't play on phone

You don't have a codec for that particular format. Try changing the music file to a different format, like MP3.
A program like "Any Audio Convertor" should do that for you in Windows. There are many free windows apps that convert formats of music files. Or do a search for an Audio convertor on the Google play store, there are plenty of free apps. Typically music apps won't display music files they cann't play, it just saves clutter on their play list.

My phone could not find music file. when i want to go to my music player after it update to search for music it will end up telling me that no music file found.

Hi,these detailed steps will help you out;
1. go to menu>media>music player
2. after opening the player, go to options>music library>all tracks
3. your player will then display all the songs available from your memory card. Choose one of the songs and then press play. The music player will automatically load the tracks into the player.

Updating the library is not enough, you have to load the tracks into the player for them to appear.

Thanks and take care

How do i delete files from my 512 colby mp3 player

Hey-

First of all, its very nice of you to give away your MP3 player. I am sure he will appreciate it. Now we have two ways of getting all your songs off of there so he can load his own.

The first option is deleting files by using your computer:

1. Make sure the unit is connected to your computer with that nice little USB cord that came with it.

2. Open Windows Explorer on your computer by opening "MY COMPUTER" which is either under the START menu or on your desktop.

3. Next to your harddrive (c:/), you will find a REMOVABLE DISK icon. This is is for your player.

4. Double click the REMOVABLE DISK ICON and use your mouse to select all the music files you would like to delete.

5. After selecting the files, press the DELETE key on your keyboard and then click YES to confirm.

If you rather do it from your player, you can:

1. select the DEL mode to delete files from your player.

2. in the Delete Menu, the following options are available. MUSIC, VOICE, or TEXT.

3. Select MUSIC

4. Your player will list each music file to be deleted one-by-one

5. Select YES to delete the current file being displayed. The screen will display a quick little confirmation that the file has been deleted and then it will move on to the next file.

6. Select EXIT twice to your return to the menu of your now empty Mp3 player. :)

Hope this helps and Happy Holidays!

Windows Media player Doesnt Detect It

Make sure your audio files are MP3 or Unprotected WMA files, thats all this unit reads. If you use ITUNES or copyrighted music, it will not play it.

2. Turn on Mp3 player, go to settings, make sure USB mode is set to MSC.
3. Connect MP3 player to the computer.
4. If using Windows operating system, click the Start button, go to 'My Computer'
5. There should be a drive labeled 'Removable Disk', drag your music files to this location.
6. Disconnect MP3 player from the computer
7. Play audio files

*Note - Audio files must be MP3 or Unprotected Windows Media Audio files (that is all this unit will play).
