My newer model dishwasher has locked up. Clean LED light continues to blink. Any ideas? This happened once before and a sequence was given to me that I no longer had :(

Press High Temp Scrub and Dry Heat option buttons in quick succession one after the other for about 6 sec until all the lights come on. Then press Cancel button. This should reset the dishwasher. Press equivalent buttons on the panel if the actual ones above are not there.
Make sure the dishwasher detergent dispenser lid is shut and the dishwasher door is shut before you start the above reset sequence.

That is a security configuration on HP Laptops, depending on the way they blink is the problem your machine has.

This document pertains to HP Notebook PCs with the HP Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) beginning in late-2008. On startup, you may see a blank screen. If the diagnostic utilities detect a specific problem with hardware components, the fan turns on, but the screen remains blank. To help identify the cause of the problem, various LED lights on the keyboard blink a series of codes. The diagnostic utilities use the LEDs near the Num Lock or Caps Lock keys to blink a series of error codes. At the end of the series the blinking stops. The pattern of blinks will occur any time you attempt to start the computer until the error is resolved. Battery power LED blinks The Battery power LED indicates the condition of the power supply. When starting the computer, or when the computer is in operation, use the chart to identify the power condition. Battery low charge or failure Battery power LED blinking Battery Insufficient charge on the battery When new computer is used for first time, the white LED light for the AC power connector blinks. Battery is still in "Shipping Mode", the light continues to blink even when AC power is connected.

To resolve, turn off notebook, connect AC power and allow battery to charge for at least 30 minutes, then start computer. LEDs near Caps Lock and Number Lock keys blink when starting notebook The LED lights near the Caps Lock and Num Lock keys will blink if an error is detected during the start up process. The LEDs will blink a number of times in a sequence and then stop. The number of blinks in the sequence indicates what component caused an error when it was being tested during start up. If the LEDs stop blinking and the computer does not start, you can press the power button again to repeat the tests. Count the number of blinks, and use the chart to identify the error condition. Knowing the number of blinks is helpful when you contact an HP support agent for technical help. In standby mode (red led on/after the led stops from blinking), press "Display", "5", Volume (-)", "Power on" on the remote control in sequence, self diagnostic screen will be display, let me know the what is on the screen to diagnose where the fault came from.

If the clean light flashes 7 times, pauses, then repeats...

When the dishwasher doesn't sense a water temperature increase, it stops working and locks the functions (clean light flashes 7 times, all buttons are non responsive). It does this as a safety in case the element is broken and feeding electrical current into the water.

To resolve this you will have to reset the console. Do this by closing the door and press these buttons in sequence...

-high temp wash
-heated dry
-high temp wash
-heated dry

...all the lights will turn on briefly and the machine will start a diagnostic cycle. Let it go through the diagnostic to test the function of the element.(1-2 minutes). When it finishes, open the door and touch the element to see if it is hot (be careful, it can get pretty hot so wet your fingers to avoid burns).
Once the diagnostic has cleared, you should be able to run the dishwasher as normal.

If the issue returns, you could have a problem with the heating circuit (ie. element, thermostat or wiring).
It rarely happens but it could also be the door switch not engaging properly when the door is closed (slightly bend the door latch down making sure it doesn't hit the door when you close it).

It seems that there is something stucks in your dishwasher...
is there any error code?

is it on steady??? or blinking??? if on steady try pressing nad holding the button with the "lock" symbol on/or above it, thinknits the heat button, for 3 secs it will "unlock" the controls, if blinkin then its a diff issue, may be a bad door switch not recognizing hte door being closed therefore wont start,

I ran into this same problem. Cutting the power didnt reset it.

After power reset, mine had the normal led blinking. If I pressed cancel, then the cancel and china button leds would start blinking too.

I pulled out the trouble shooting guide (from behind the baseboard kick panel under the dishwasher door). It that if the dishwasher wont run and button LEDs are blinking there is a short circuit in the keypad. It gave a keypad diagnostic sequence which I followed. (disconnect keypad and try to initiate the diagnostic cycle without the keypad by disconecting the yellow leads to OWI sensor twice in less than 6 seconds.

I could hear the diagnostic cycle start, so the problem is a bad keypad. Will order a new one tomorrow and let you know if it works.

youll need to remove the bottom acess panel of d/w there should be an extensive trouble shooting guide tapedto back of panel in a sleeve, lotsa good stuff in there. depending on buttons its going to repuire pushing a sequence. "
