GeForce 8800 GT graphics card no display

Hi i bought a nvidia GeForce 8800 GT PCI express 2.0 graphics card so i fitted it and when i turned my comp on there is no display on the screen just blackness with the monitor on standby ( i have vista)

    my graphic card(zotac)nvidia geforce GT430 a capacitor has bursted (capacitor: FP 271 16) still working but then i replaced the capacitor now the card fan spins but no display. Please help!!!

What motherboard do you have it maybe your motherboard is only up to PCI-E 8 and the card is PCI-E 16 if it is it will not work

Yellow exclaimation mark for Nividia Geforce 8800 GT under Display adapters in Device Manager screen. its says windows has stopped this device because it has encoutered problems. (code 43).
try to right on it and choose unistall then restart the system to auto reinstall the said driver..maybe it needs only to update the driver that is why there is a bang on it

Well if you installed the correct drivers for your video card and have the proper power supply requirements, then the vertical lines you're getting most likely indicate that your video card is bad.

Try it in another computer if available, or get another video card.

contact the shop / place you purchased it from and they should be able to give you info of where to send it and what to do - they should have a section on there website where you can go through the return process and you will most likely need to get an RMA number to authorise the return / replacement.
