Try starting in safe mode, this usually bypasses the graphics drivers, which could be in a funky state:
To start up in safe mode

Shut down your computer and wait 10 seconds.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold down the Shift key.
You should press the Shift key as soon as possible after your hear the startup tone, but not before.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple logo and progress indicator (spinning gear).

After I rebooted MacBook screen went black why

Your question is not very clear.
ReBoot restarts the Mac which shuts the power off momentarily.
So... Black screen = power off

Blank screen

Sounds like your screen went bad.
Close the lid, attach an external monitor, open lid and see if the screen appears on the monitor.

Resetting the PRAM may do the trick also:
You reset the PRAM by rebooting a Mac and then immediately hold down the Command+Option+P+R keys, you will then hear the Mac reboot sound again, signifying your PRAM has been reset. You must hit the key combination before the grey screen appears otherwise it won't work.

My Mac laptop froze and I turned it off, and now it is BLANK

Thanks for contacting FixYa Support, I will be glad to assist.

Here are some 3 sets of troubleshooting steps you can try in order to work and resolve this issue:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Procedure #1

Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
• First, hold in your power button for approximately 10 seconds to do a hard shutdown.

• Once your Mac is shutdown, you will need to perform what is called a PRAM reset (Parameter RAM)
This should help with the freezing issue:

• Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously .

• Turn on the computer.
• Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.

• Now, hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the third time.

• Release the keys and allow the Mac to start up.

If this does not work go to Procedure# 2

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Procedure # 2

Perform an SMC Reset (Have to provide you the link from Apple for this procedure, due to not having enough space to type this our for you.
Macbook SMC Reset Processes

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Procedure# 3
One final step I would recommend you try regardless, is to repair the folder and file permissions on your Macbook, which, do get damaged sometimes and can hinder the optimum performance of your Macbook using Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard or 10.6 Snow Leopard. This will require

font.f1 {font: 13.0px 'Myriad Pro'} -RUN DISK UTILITY WITH STARTUP DISK-
  1. Insert your Mac OS X Startup disk
  2. •Reboot your Mac
  3. •At the Apple Chime, press the C key and hold it until you see a White screen, gray Apple and eventually a Spinning gear.
  4. • Release the C key only after you see the Spinning gear.
  5. •Mac will boot from the startup disk to the Installer environment
  6. • From the Installer Menu bar, click Utilities > Disk Utility and open up Disk Utility application.
  7. • Click on on the hard drive at the top of the window in the left sidebar and
  8. • Select "Repair Disk"
  9. **Let Disk Utilities run this repair the disk until completion
  10. • At the end of this process, reboot your Macbook
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

These are all helpful procedures used by many Apple techs and Mac users to help resolve system and application interrupts, as you have described.

I hope this will help resolve your issue so you can resume using your Macbook. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

My laptop powers up but now it will frequently

This folder means your Mac can't find a "Startup Disk'. Try holding down the "option" key at startup.
If you see a drive, select it and click the arrow.
If you have an iBook or Powerbook try holding down the "X" key at startup.
If neither of these options work you may need to repair the disk. To do this do the following.
Turn on your mac, immediately after the tone press and hold the command + S keys until the computer shows a black screen with white text.

Once this is finished loading you'll be at a "command line"

Type the following exactly as shown, including spaces.

/sbin/fsck -fy

Now press the return key.

If any repairs were made, repeat entering the command and press return.

Do this until no repairs are made.

Now type the following exactly as shown.

reboot

And press return.

If your computer reboots and makes it to the login screen then congratulations. If not you can try this as well.

Start up your mac and BEFORE the grey screen appears press and hold the following keys at the same time.

command + option + p + r

hold these keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time, then let go of the keys.

Other than that you may need to take it to someone to be repaired. hope this helps.

The screen suddenly went black while connected to an electrical outlet. Nothing works.

Three immediate possibilities in order of expense:
1) Make sure the brightness is on. Press the F2 key.
2) Screen backlight could be blown out, especially if you can hear the disk seeking, fans, etc. even though the screen is black. Connect your Mac to an external display or TV using the appropriate adapters. If you get an image, you need a new backlight or LCD panel.
3) Entire machine is plotz, especially if you hear absolutely no chimes, disk movement, optical reset, fans, etc. This may indicate a power board or logic board issue.

Dell Inspiron 1501, died and will not restart

Try to remove the battery and unplug the power supply, then hold down the power button for about 10 seconds. If this doesn't work, it could be that the laptop overheated while watching the DVD.

Boot problem on inspiron 1150

Try connecting it to an external monitor.
When you do, as soon as you press the power button to turn on the laptop, close the laptop lid - as this forces the laptop to display on an external monitor.
If this works, then it means the laptop screen is bad.
If it doesn't, the most likely cause would be that the laptop video card went bad.
For a while, some older Dell laptops with high-end nVidia graphics cards tended to die suddenly.
