SOURCE: F13 error during drying cycle

Hi, that indicates that either the fan motor is not working/ blocked or the dryer thermistor (thermostatic sensor) is playing up. Of course, the pcb reads the sensor so it could also be that causing the error.

check the length of the motor brushes.
new are about 30mm long.
should also clean up the motor with compressed air.
Remove the electronic module also do a cleanup in all contacts of connectors. If necessary wash with isopropyl alcohol which can be purchased at a pharmacy.
Dry with a hair dryer.
Do not forget to make reset to clear the error.

Hi ive just installed my new hotpoint WDF740 , im pleased with it but when its heating up it makes a ticking noise . any idears wot it could be ?

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

That could just be the heating element and associated hardware expanding- providing it's not coming from the timer!

If this has assisted and/or clarified the situation for you please consider a 4 thumbs up on our rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Flashing f 13 and leaking from bottom

Hello, this is an error with most of the Branded Washers like Hotpoint etc,
F13 indicates High Dryer Temperature.
Check the dryer motor runs OK and that the fan isn't hanging off. (You'll hear it if it is).
Check the connections to the dryer NTC (temperature sensor on top of dryer)
Check the condenser isn't blocked (under the fan motor, plastic unit going down the rear of the tub).
If all checks out OK, try changing the dryer NTC.
Thanks

Machine fault code "f13"

Plug off the wall. There is a thin rubber tube going from the switch area to the exit near the outlet tube. Probably this is blocked. This tube should be free from any blockage; take out the top clip from this tube and blow into it - it should be free, clear the blockage if any and refit. This is the water level tube which tells the machine when to switch off water, etc.....
