60d flash pop up

Mode dial is set to an auto mode or the setting is set for flash photography. Change that and the built-in flash unit won't pop-up every time you press the shutter button.

When taking a picture is clicks a couple of times does not take a picture and says error 05

Check if something is blocking the in-built flash to pop up or if it is stuck. If the flash is stuck press the flash pop-up button and try pulling it up simultaneously.

I bought my new canon eos 60D..i put on external flsah to use..then after i take off the external flash, my camera's built in flash cannot pop up to take flash even i had press the flash button. How?

Hi, What external flash did you use on your Canon 60D? The internal flash will not automatically pop up if in the "Creative Zone" it will pop up with the button in the creative zones (M, AV, TV and P) it will not pop up with the button if you are in the the full auto mode (that's the little green box mode) but, should pop up automatically if required. The flash should pop up automatically in the basic zone for Portrait, close up and night photography, the button won't activate (pop up) the flash. Also the internal flash will not pop up if there is an accessory in the hot shoe. Again what external flash was it you used and did it flash?

Cannon error 05

Error 05 means that something mechanically prevents built in flash to pop up. Ensure that nothing is blocking flash. Switch in P mode and press flash button to pop it up. If it does not pop up - try _gently_ to help it to pop up. If you succed in popping up the flash - check it for any dirt with can prevent flash from popping up.

Why won't the flash on my e500 pop up when the correct button is pressed or when I try to take a picture that requires a flash?

When you take pictures in AUTO, Portrait, Macro or Night scene mode, the built-in flash will automatically pop up in low-light or backlit conditions. If you want to control the flash pop-up, set this function to OFF.
1 Menu [AUTO POP UP]
2 Use control dial to select [ON] or [OFF].
3 Press the Ok
button.

If you are in any other mode the flash will not auto pop up.

Canon Camera Rebel XTi reads error 05 and the flash will not pop up

Err 05 means: Something obstructed the built-in flash's pop-up operation. Turn off the main switch and turn it on again.

Prepare to press the flash request button with your left hand. With your right hand, position your thumb and finger to gently pry up the flash head, perhaps using fingernails. Push the button and pry. With that help, it should pop up.

Canon XTi Built in Flash

I found the answer and fixed my flash. Look on http://photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=00ODWf

This will describe how, if you have been using a speedlite alot, than the little tab under the shutter release side of the hot shoe can get bent down thus constantly pressing down (toward the bottom of the camera) the small button which deactivates the pop-up1.gif flash even when the speedlite is not attached. Just bend the tab up a little with a jewler's screwdriver, turn the camera off and on and voila!! Fixed!!! Dan describes pushing the tab down, but on the xti, the tab needs to be bent up to release the flash deactivation switch and fix the problem. Thanks to Dan D on photonet for saving me a service call.

Built in flash

Have you given it a gentle press down with the button depressed? This will release it sometimes, Other than that it is a repair shop job or send it back if you are able.
