The available drivers for the CCD-TRV608 (the CCD-CRV608 isn't listed at Sony are here: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=CCDTRV608&LOC=3 . These are for Vista and older versions of Windows; however I can't tell if the 64-bit version is supported.

With Windows 7, try the Vista driver.in the compatibility mode. Right click on the installer and choose Properties. Set the program to always run as compatible with the older version of Windows. Then right click again on the installer and choose Run As Administrator. This may or may not work.

If that doesn't work, you should try a computer with a version of Windows that is compatible with the drivers from Sony. This will always work. You can use a physical computer (either a second computer or a dual boot computer) or a virtual computer. In the case of Win7 Pro or Ultimate, you can do this for free. Download and install Microsoft's Virtual PC and the XP mode. Install the camera drivers in the XP computer as if it were the only machine. (You will need to save files to optical or other removable media to share them with the Win7 computer.) For all other options, you will need a valid copy of an older version of Windows. (Other virtual computer programs are Parallels and VMWare.)

I hope this helps.

Hello,

I have got two possible problems in my mind. One is that your laptop does not meet optimal cirteria for using Windows 7. Especially if you keep original 2GB RAM. But I do not thing this would cause problems as you described.

The second one, as you mentiond, you need to update the drivers too. From the Sony's point of view, they do not support Win 7 in this laptop, so they do not provide any drivers.

Drivers for windows 7

You should not need drivers for windows 7 as far as the camera is concerned, what you need to do is update the drivers or get updated video editing software. If you are using a analog device to input video, many times you can get the updated drivers from the company that made it.

(its basically playing the entire video in order for windows movie maker to record it.

I run windows 7 64 bit i need a driver for a ccc elite xl 608 laserprinter

If you have a Windows XP x64 CD, try the GCC SelectPress 600 or Select Press 1200 driver. The SelectPress 1200 worked for my Elite XL 20/1200. I believe the only 64-bit drivers that are available for GCC printers are on the XP 64 disc.

The firmware needs to be updated. You can go to the manufacturers website and download and install the firmware.Or you can un-install the hardware itself reboot and allow windows to install the drivers.
