Well your all brilliant. Point 1. The filer in the bottom of the machine was full of Cra* once I cleaned out the filter, pulled the integrated machine away from the wall and (Point 2) tilted it on its back legs (you were right about the mess - as more water came out) the E4 signal went. Im just trying it now so will come back if the machine doesnt work!! Thanks for the advice!

SOURCE: dishwasher is flashing error code

"E4" code relates to the overflow detector There appears to be an internal sump. Lean the machine back about 35-45 degrees to remove the excess water from the dishwasher. It might be messy so be prepared. By design the sump collects water from condensation i.e. (Cold outside machine wall, hot inside machine wall) hence condensation builds up and is suppose to and should evaporate in the right environment. Placement and installation locations play into a big part of the design.
You will notice by observation just in the centre there is a polystyrene float. This is what activates the overflow switch which throws the error code.
This probelm is simple to fix, just take off your kitchen plinth and turn off the dish washer power. then at the base of the dishwasher there are 2 plastic clip access panels, take a blunt screw driver or knive to help you ease out the plastic panel. once this is off, simple take a dish cloth out mop out the water, particularly from the left hand side as this is where the sensor is. Once dry (ish) replace the panels and switch on - DONE! its that easy

Sounds as though the drain is blocked partially. E4 is the overfill code. Try cleaning out the drain.

My Kenwood dishwasher keeps displaying error message E4 but there is no mention of this in the user manual. Can you explain what this means

Hello,

Some models of Frigidaire washers come with a digital readout display that informs the operator of the unit's function and any errors.

Error codes indicate that a problem has occurred and should be addressed. Different models of Frigidaire washers may vary in their fault displays.

Some washer models use flashing lights at the unit's start, door lock, wash, rinse, final spin and control indicators to display error codes.

Hope this help?

Thanks.

E4 fault code

Hi, when a dishwasher goes into overfill mode it usually means that the bottom tray has water in it that operates a float connected to a microswitch. Open the bottom panel and soak up all water then check to make sure the float is down completely.then restart dishwasher. Why it has overfilled is another problem. It could be a faulty pressure switch, pressure switch hose may have a hole in it, water valve may be faulty. Too much soap or wrong soap can cause too many suds and hence overfill. Also if rinse aid is spilt when filling. Or seals leaking. etc.
